It'll be interesting to see May's statement. She gambled and lost.

If the tories get 6 more seats (of the 14 left) DUP could bail them out. Which is totally doable but oh the hilarity.

Two more unless Sinn Fein decides to graduate from a protest vote.

Most interesting result of the night: Fife Northeast. SNP won it with an overwhelming majority of no less than two whole votes.

Fingers crossed they do, even though I already know they will not...

This was the result that cracked me up the most... That and Corby not voting for Corbyn...

I don't think there's a person in the world who didn't like the end result. Also, SF might finally be able to be of any use and save Labour if they feel like it. I am hoping they do, but knowing how things work, they will not, since it seems the wave of cray cray of last year ended.

Wow, we finally did something right...

Just in, apparently Theresa May will lead a minority government and not resign... Thank you for wasting our time and money...

    Let's see here's what's happening in Brexit-land from what I understand:

    1. Theresa May's decision of a snap election has backfired horrifically and lost many seats resulting in a hung parliament.
    2. Labour has gained tons seats, wants to form a minority government.
    3. UKIP has been found dead in a Morrisions car park.
    4. Theresa is refusing to quit.
    5. People in Europe are commenting on weak leadership on the conservatives.

Even though Corbin isn't PM, he's won in other ways.

Corbyn's not going to run a minority, Labour's second place. The Tories COULD, but if they tried the rest of the Commons would just crush every bill out. They need partners, and the only likely option has a hell of a price tag and could dump them at any time with basically no consequences.

As for Corbyn himself, his victory here is in demonstrating that a true social democrat platform can be a credible threat to enemy parties.

Corbyn's "victory" is demonstrating that he can't win an election even against a PM that so far has been ineffective and ran a really weak campaign.

Social democrat is a woolly bloody term, but I don't count "Nationalise the everything" as part of it. He's a pure-strain socialist, and even a manifesto and campaign watered down by party compromise demonstrated that beyond peradventure.

It's also arguable whether he had a platform so much as promises of handing out cash to everyone without paying for it. It's an effective election tactic, one admits, but we knew that after the referendum and Leave saying they'd spend the literally infinite money given to the EU on everything.

Are we still talking about money trees at this juncture

Not really. He flipped seats that Labour has quite literally never held, or hasn't held in a century. Labour's issue here was less Corbyn and more Scot Labour and SNP collapsing. Even a lot of the people that have been trying to oust him from the leadership conceded this was an insane turnaround. The gains are insane for a surprise election.
E: a surprise election in which the press pretty much uniformly opposed him, also

Another election where voters reject the experienced leadership of a woman in favor of a crazy old man
