It turns out that a simple question probably simplifies a complex reality. Humans are allowed to just fail at things without it being a political conspiracy. Lakanal House happened for many of the same reasons under Labour. The management organisation of Grenfell was negligent in a way that had nothing to do with government money, because they were already lining their pockets to an excessive degree. More funding never guarantees freedom from mistakes, from confusion, from greed, or from laziness.
(For my part, I think a greater part of the blame is to be put on the ludicrous 'red-tape cutting' initiatives which discourage regulation updates, and in successive governments putting off on-going fire safety inquiries because it turns out they're hard).
Trying to state as some kind of 'simple' fact that the Tories killed people is exactly the kind of blinkered, partisan rhetoric that has given your political discussion (and its present dominance in this thread) the kind of bad reputation which causes people to disengage from it.
