It turns out that a simple question probably simplifies a complex reality. Humans are allowed to just fail at things without it being a political conspiracy. Lakanal House happened for many of the same reasons under Labour. The management organisation of Grenfell was negligent in a way that had nothing to do with government money, because they were already lining their pockets to an excessive degree. More funding never guarantees freedom from mistakes, from confusion, from greed, or from laziness.
(For my part, I think a greater part of the blame is to be put on the ludicrous 'red-tape cutting' initiatives which discourage regulation updates, and in successive governments putting off on-going fire safety inquiries because it turns out they're hard).

Trying to state as some kind of 'simple' fact that the Tories killed people is exactly the kind of blinkered, partisan rhetoric that has given your political discussion (and its present dominance in this thread) the kind of bad reputation which causes people to disengage from it.

I never said it was a conspiracy, it's just the inevitable outcome of right wing policies. Austerity, the "war on red tape"/deregulation, tax cuts for the rich, all of these things are beloved by the Tories specifically and the global right generally, and all of them DIRECTLY lead to such incidents.

As for the threat of disengagement, the Right don't engage because they have no legit platform. Mac and Bloble, for example, have been repeatedly asked to justify their drive by takes and always run when challenged. The center righters like Strife and Leo do no better. I don't care if they don't engage because when they do it's the same old shit every time, hollow defenses of the indefensible.

    That's only two questions?

Well, they kind of did. The flats they offered the people was decent. Still, they are already two or more PMs in. Two term rule says they should leave or at least allow someone else to take the helm. Doubly so with the DUP being their source of power right now.

As for regs, we know the Tories would sooner die than enforce more regulations...

This paper evaluates the wage, employment, and hours effects of the first and second phase-in ofthe Seattle Minimum Wage Ordinance, which raised the minimum wage from $9.47 to $11 perhour in 2015 and to $13 per hour in 2016. Using a variety of methods to analyze employment inall sectors paying below a specified real hourly rate, we conclude that the second wage increaseto $13 reduced hours worked in low-wage jobs by around 9 percent, while hourly wages in suchjobs increased by around 3 percent. Consequently, total payroll fell for such jobs, implying thatthe minimum wage ordinance lowered low-wage employees’ earnings by an average of $125 permonth in 2016. Evidence attributes more modest effects to the first wage increase. We estimatean effect of zero when analyzing employment in the restaurant industry at all wage levels, comparable to many prior studies.

The NBER is practically a center-right think tank so that's not a surprise.
