Myeah. This whole thing was essentially not even news to begin with imo. Why it became a big story in the first place, coupled with news agencies being so quick to generate click-bait stories that they butchered the job... tempest in a teapot, this.

I'd say a crowd of white kids (all of whom coincidentally are supporters of a specific ideology) reacting to harassment from another group by harassing a lone, elderly Native American is news-worthy; the fact that the press then fell on itself trying to look "reasonable" by trying to make it seem as if said kids didn't harass said lone, elderly Native American is even more news-worthy.
Maybe it's just me and my shifting Overton Window of expectations, but MAGA hatters and marching hares harassing one another isn't really newsworthy to me anymore. It's more the norm than anything else. That said, I do think the media reaction to the whole thing is more newsworthy than the event itself. Significantly so.

Well it's more or less a completely fake story and they were the ones approached by the Indian guy and not the other way around, so that's the confusion.
But because they're the kind of people it's ok to hate on the internet people suddenly want to hurt kids!

Yeah, so apparently it was completely faked how they jeered and mocked the drumming old man while one of them stood directly in front of him with the most shit-eating grin on his face. Those poor, misunderstood white kids!
Well, yes, if they went up to him and did that it's a completely different context. If he came into their group and started beating a drum in your face wtf are you meant to do?
> First of all, they weren't all white kids some were black, hence why the Black Isarelies were shouting the N-word at the kids.
> All the kids did was in response to the racist and homophobic slurs being shouted at them was chant their school anthem to drown at the hate.
> Then a Native American suddenly walks in banging his drum and everyone is confused. The kids mistakenly think he's banging to the beat of their song so they continue not realising that he's protesting against them.
> The Native American man continues to bang the drum mere centimetres away from one of the kid's face, confused the kid responds by awkwardly smiling (dubbed as "smug" by the media)
And yet despite all this, the media paints the kids as racist harassers of the old man. The internet then doxes the kids and death threats commence (some of which have cost people their jobs for espousing).
And as a final twist in the tale, the Native American man has been caught out for lying - not only that the kids were harassing him, but also his claims about being a Vietnam War veteran are also believed to be false.

I think that was everything.

Pretty sure they had alternatives to "harassment".

I mean, you were casting doubt over Philips' statements by saying he lied about being a veteran (source, by the way?), you'd think Sandmann's version of events being an actual lie would be a lot more relevant.
There's a video embedded there, you can just watch it.

Bring us a dream
Give him a pair of eyes with a come-hither gleam
um, really, the reason i think it's news worthy is that the whole thing seemed planned from the get-go and people fell for it
1. post out of context clip
2. stir hate pot
3. delete / bury attempts to bring up full video
4. stir hate pot some more
5. allow circulation of full video, too late damage done
7. profit??
Clearly it is a conspiracy by the libs in power to oh wait
conspiracy or not, i mean, i don't give a shit i just found it interesting
