The "mascot" was originally one of the new enemies done up for Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 (as shown at 0:57 in this video):

Not sure what they're trying to go with for that first segment, but...

But yeah the style looks extremely Disgaea. Which is a good thing, as long as they dont recycle old enemies again.
Reminds me of how Lotte no Omocha felt Disgaea as fuck, too.
Is anyone playing this game atm? It's a really interesting game. I managed to defeat Trillion on my first playthrough using my third demon lord.
