I'm currently on episode 56 of XY, I didn't realize I had gotten this far behind until yesterday. Speeding Bullet Kojirou was pretty great in episode 55 also.
No matter how many times I see it, Blast Burn is always hype. I guess Steel Wing is just straight up gone now that Alain's Charizard knows Thunder Punch, though.
Next episode will be even better though.

You seem to know a lot about the recent stuff in the anime so I'm curious. Do they do a lot of callbacks to the older stuff or is that stuff kinda just glossed over?
Sometimes.
Ash still has the fishing lure he got from Misty, all of his old Pokemon show up for League championships, and you get the occasional mention of his adventures in other regions with past companions.
Finally got around to watching Hoopa and the.Archdjinni of the RingsClash of Ages
Pretty entertaining; definitely better than the Diancie movie. I'm unused to the dub voices besides Ash and Team Rocket, but I got used to Serena and Bonnie quickly enough (even if they'd probably work better switched). The movie-original people and Hoopa were endearing enough, though Hoopa's voice was flat at the critical SURPASS YOUR LIMITS moment. All of the legendaries were cool, and Rayquaza did serious work. Good Job, Rayquaza.
Overall I liked the movie. Now to wait for Volcanion and Magearna.
That was a fairly satisfying ending for Serena's arc. She's found what she wants to do and how she wants to do it, and she's far more than the directionless, slightly selfish person she was at the start of the series.
Now for Clemont to get hitched.
Ahaha, Bonnie's imouto crisis was funny and cute.
Next episode looks great, though. AmourShipping? Someone actually recognizing Ash? Serena cosplaying as Ash?

But the episode isn't even out yet, let alone subbed. At any rate, I'm happy that someone might actually recognize the dude who saved the world like ten times over and showed up in all of the big tournaments.

Still one-sided, Serena missed her chance to dance with Ash, but she's been cute a bunch so it's all good.
RIP, Jimmy only knew who Ash was because Team Rocket told him.
At least we got the sickness mistaken for lewdness with Serena getting tricked this time, so that was extra cute. Serena dressing up and acting like Ash was great too.
And next episode is Ash vs. Alain, Round Two! He'll probably lose again, but I doubt it'll be as much of an asskicking as last time.
Man, I never knew that Shadow Ball could be so boring.
And lol, Ash didn't get completely wrecked by a Champion. Don't get my hopes up anime, I know that he'll get trashed when it really counts by some rando.

Oh nice, Ash lost to Shota. I feel bad about Pikachu getting sidelined for Greninja; here's to hoping Ash's most reliable partner gets a great battle soon.
Ash trying to force a powerup for his Greninja and failing is interesting too. He must've been overthinking it; it's probably an instinct-type thing.
I haven't really been following this season but...
I really hope they adapt the "AZ" storyline. It was a really underused plot point in X/Y in my opinion.

Oh wow, not only did they go straight to Ash's last Gym Battle, he even lost.
Looks like this is an arc getting Ash out of his slump and in tune with Greninja, and I approve. I just wish he'd use Pikachu more often ;_;
