So I just heard there's a Kill La Kill game in the works called Kill La Kill The Game: If. It's an alternate story that diverges from the anime with Satsuki as the main heroine instead of Ryuko (though she's playable too), and the gameplay is heavily inspired by Guilty Gear and other ArcSys fighters. Interview here and trailer here.

I think it looks really cool, though I hope they don't make it a pure fighting game. While a big highlight of a Kill La Kill game would obviously be participating in all the balls-to-the-wall fights, it'd also be fun to just play as Ryuko riding around Honno City on her motorcycle, interacting with all the quirky locals, discovering things and picking fights with the local toughs.

The anime created a wonderfully detailed and zany world, so I hope the game gives us a chance to actually explore it, rather than just making it a string of setpieces from one badass fight scene to another.

gameplay looks bad to me, like that Hero Academia game.

Yeah, it's an Arena fighter by the guys who made the Little Witch Academia game, and only published by Arcsys. There are neat ideas there like being able to talk no jutsu your opponent, but the game style looks too much like a Naruto Ultimate Storm game for me to really care.

slow and arena didn't mash really well.
At least Naruto did the good choice making them fast, and removing that stupid rock-paper-scissor mini-game that arena love to do.

Too bad Platinum didn't end up taking it. They'd be perfect for it. Unfortunately, they got asked about making a KLK game so many times they got thoroughly sick of the anime...

Easiest answer: They pull a Blue Exorcist and ignore the anime original parts of S1. DxD S4 also managed more or less to continue the novels and retcon away most of the anime original stuff S3 had that made a continuation really hard (even if they couldn't cover the skipped content)
