MUVLUV ALTERNATIVE ANIME ANNOUNCED
Makes sense for the announcement during the 20th anniversary of age, but is the anime going to make sense without Extra and Unlimited, or are they planning on being heavy on the flashbacks? Or just market the anime towards the fans of the VN I suppose.
Because of the reputation of the game, I never really checked it out, but I liked Total Eclipse, so looking forward to it.

Im guessing its gonna make logical sense through some quick catchup flashbacks, but not... emotional sense, if that makes sense (lol). i do strongly recommend the VNs, even though extra can feel like a chore to many. There are few pieces of media that left me feeling as wew as I did at the end of MLA. Really feels like an epic journey. And I use epic here 100% unironically.
Wasn't there already one? With a catchy ass theme song and nothing else going for it?

I jumped around on the age anniversary stream on the bus, something interesting to note:
-video message from Hajime Isayama, mangaka of Attack on Titan. Says MLA gave him the idea of AOT, he finished the game after playing about 2 days straight with nly short breaks for sleep and food (its a ~50hour VN), and said the infamous memetic CHOMP scene really engraved itself deep inside him (erens mom says hi). Says his generation doesnt have a creator like kouki, that he wanted to become the next kouki but couldnt do it.
-Jean kirsteins VA speculates tongue in cheek that he only got the role of Jean because Isayama liked his muvluv songs.
-bamboo from overdrive, tororo from circus and nbkz from minori (rip) are joinging age. Call themselves the visual novel avengers.
-our guy mafia kajita is there, asking the hard questions such as why havent you been working kouki lol
-Kouki is working on muvluv integrate, which will be the “Turn A gundam of muvluv universe”
Imagine a world where Fate Stay Night doesnt have an anime but a bunch of Fate spinoffs do. Thats muvluv.

Does MuvLuv OG even have an anime? Because from what I hear going from happy generic dating sim to mech fights for humanity is one of the best parts of the series. Wouldn't jumping right to Alternative lose a bunch of impact?

No title involving the actual muvluv trilogy cast exists. or actually I think Sumika makes a cameo in something, but yeah. Its definitely gonna lose on Alternatives emotional scenes and catharsis.
But i dont really care because i posess the special ability of reaching into my brain and remembering the events of extra and unlimited. VN reader privileges�� Anime onlies can write their ann articles about how confusing it is
ANN. That site that managed to have "pro reviewers (pro in that they get paid. Nothing else)" who when presented with a show about man eating aliens invading during cold war and manking fighting back with mecha, they managed to get confused and think it's some weird alternate history where each half of Berlin ruled over it's respective faction, or something. It was hilarious

Most anime watchers only have the Total Eclipse & Schwarz adaptations to reference & fallback on after all.
I actually 'cheated' (read some of the manga & outside info/spoilers) rather than 'suffer' through the generic school VN portions & then jumped straight to Extra & Alternative.
I may not have 100% experience but I still understood more than enough & enjoyed my alien chomping mecha riding PTSD ride.
Ahh, Schwarzmarken.

Tite Kubo x Kohei Horikoshi Special Talk
Two of my favorite anime/manga creators having a joint interview. I've been excited for this ever since I read that it was happening.
Some of the answers that they gave surprised me, and then there were the ones that just made me smile. I thought it was a great interview, I just wish it were longer.

One of the things that surprised me was that Kohei Horikoshi's favorite character in Bleach was Mayuri of all people. Like I don't know him that well, but I figured it would have been someone like Ichigo or Toshiro. Finding out about Rukia's name was fun too.

He's not wrong. Despite the weird way he words it, what he dislikes is romance that ends in confession, kisses and doesn't go beyond that. He doesn't want fanservice or explicit sex. He wants a romance where the couple aren't kept pure virgins. You can have that without showing sex on screen (just black screen, and show the characters waking up in the same bed and getting dressed)
It's a complaint I've seen lots of people have against anime romance and it's cliches
