Nowadays it feels like certain people have a need to force everything into some sort of unfunny, artificial meme (not like back then we didn't have memes that got spammed into getting old and annoying, like the "there is no tsukihime anime" one, or the "Sakura a slut" one that was a trademark of the later proboards era), and a similar thing can be said about derails: before, the derails were more of a natural byproduct of people being in a thread and talking about stuff, often being borne of the discussion itself, rather than being forced out by people that seem to think that derailing and shitposting makes them look cool or whatever. Apply the same to shitposting.

Of course, those are just my personal opinions and I don't expect that much agreement to them. Just my two cents on the whole thing.

But yes, the 2deep4me and the 'Please stop talking about dicks' and all those other dumb name threads I'd argue need to be changed (well I'm not sure what you can change 2deep4me into). As they are no better than memeposting. But while you talk about forced memes all I can think of recently is that Christemo thing with his 'DISTANT RELATIVES' stuff.

I mean people were complaining about PsychoPass' thread title (though I don't think its that bad, maybe it should be in the title but in the under title for when you enter the thread).

Really, most people seem to understand (after a while) the idea behind the announcement. Is there anything someone still wants clearing up?

An 18-page discussion, just to say that we should avoid being dicks, that we should choose better words when expressing ourselves, because there are people who can misinterpret its meaning, or don't like its use due personal reasons/RL problems.

I can relate to Lyco and the other guy protesting over the use of the word autism: My brother is still fighting his cancer (although it's ending), and when someone says "nanana gave me cancer", i really feel bad.

But i always thought that this thing about choosing better our words, was part of what we can call respect or education (or if you have another word or expression, insert it here).
