It's actually pretty balanced and well-made so far. Destroyers, Cruisers, Battleships and Carriers all have their own interesting roles, and they all play very differently.
Funny enough, battleships are probably the weakest of the four ship types.

I've watched a few videos showing the different ship types but I'm surprised to hear that.
I get destroyers having torpedoes and aircraft carriers having a more tactical role, but I always figured battleships would be like better armed and armored cruisers.
What are cruisers good for in this game, then?
Cruisers are basically destroyers with bigger guns. They're usually fast and maneuverable, and so unlike battleships they can get in fairly close range with destroyers since they can dodge torpedoes.
They also typically have great AA guns, in addition to torpedoes. They're sort of an in between of battleships and destroyers; the game tends toward them as being more or less an anti-carrier and anti-destroyer ship.

Oh man, another game with the acronym WoW. Funnily enough, that one apparently has its own plans for a ship battling mini-game/garrison bore.
Depends on how you play them, a battleship driver without a least one escort ship will get shredded by torp bombers, but there are ways to mitigate this with proper tactics.Funny enough, battleships are probably the weakest of the four ship types.
You mitigate it by playing a Kongo and having godly AA, that's what!

New Garrison Feature: Shipyard and Naval Missions
Shipyard
Characters with a level 3 garrison can now construct a Shipyard.
To begin the path to construct a Shipyard, report to your Garrison and accept the “War Council” quest.
Build ships in your Shipyard and dispatch them on new Naval Missions.
More information will be added as development continues.

Yubari's fantastic; she's basically a cruiser that plays like a destroyer.
I wish I could play with you but I am on the NA server.

It's still a blast of a game, though! Maybe if we're super lucky and the stars align they'll implement server roaming and we can play together possibly if it ever happens.
