Rip was a great character, agreed. But hey, hey can just summon her as a zombie anyways.
As for other characters.... Andersen, Pip, post-pip-eating Seras, the Major, MOTHERFUCKING WALTER and the werewolf captain were all pretty great too.
although you're getting a little more out of the more silent characters (like the captain) if you read their origin works, since Hirano copied literally every Hellsing character out of ero-manga he wrote before (sometimes changed haircolors or genders though)
