It's funny because there's absolutely no censorship going on. Amantes Amentes, the version we have in the west, was like Realta Nua. It added a few side stories and scenes and removed or replaced the sex. That said, it also censored the violence in some scenes. However, the western release present right now on steam has said violence uncensored.
The patch wouldn't be an "uncensor" patch. It would be a patch to add H scenes that were never there in the version we got in the west. Thus why it's taking longer.

The patch also turns the game's aspect ratio to 4:3, uncropping the CGs if that matters to you. I have nothing against H scenes that don't add anything to the story but I'd say the story's worth going through as soon as you can.

Finished Kei and Marie's route, the latter of which took 12 hours non-stop reading before I had to sleep and then another hour the next day. I feel Kei's the best-written heroine by far, but in return Ren feels less developed and the route itself, although it had some amazing moments, ended short of being really great (the ending aside the rest of the route was great though. Without spoiling, a certain new character appearing there instantly became one of my favorites). Marie's route on the other hand was just amazing in every way. Good character development for Ren and Marie, and all three Einherjars had more screentime to develop them too. Reinhard and whoever else is relevant was great. And the epilogue side story is perfect. Really can't complain about it.

Going into Rea's route now, hoping it'll surpass even Marie.

Having finally finished this yesterday, I have to say it's been an amazing ride. Rea sucks as a heroine, her romance with Ren feels kinda forced, I'm sure that's a common complaint. But likewise, I remember reading that a lot of people say the route itself is amazing and I agree with that. Even if you don't care about powerlevels, it really goes to the heart of the story to answer most things that need answering. Marie route was a satisfying end but I think Rea route as a whole is the better and proper conclusion to the story(although Marie's extra story is better than Rea's extra story imo). I still feel confused on some stuff so I'll find time to reread it(probably when the uncensor patch comes out for that 4:3 aspect ratio + Rusalka porn experience).

Just finished it 100%. This has truly been a ride. The final fights against Mercurius were great.
Gotta say, I love Shirou, Reinhard, Mercurius and Machina. They were truly great characters. Almost everyone was, really.
Also we need more women like Eleonore in VNs and anime. And goddamn, the OST is great

I'm quite surprised by how likeable Rubedo was, all things considered. The game's narration doesn't pull any punches and it(or rather, her rival) points out many of her flaws as a woman and a person, and despite that she still feels like a very strong person (mentally, of course, she's undeniably strong physically). Her dynamic with her rival and her subordinate was really fascinating to follow, although of the three Einherjars I think I like Machina the most after Rea's route.

And I still can't get the ED track, Uber den himmel, out of my head. That track, Krieg, and Deus Vult are my three favorites but the OST as a whole was brilliant.

105 hours of Dies irae later, and in no particular order:
Wilhelm best LDO with the best laugh, Eleonore best Einherjar but Machina comes close, Rusalka/Marie/Beatrice are best girl in some sort of descending order, Reinhard is a superb villain, and Spinne deserves his own Spinne-Off.

11/10 game, plz gibe IkaBey and K3. Senshikan and Silverio Vendetta are also welcome.

I am not sure why Shade and Darkness isn't on the the music player. May be some weird rights thing going on, dunno. It was still a bitching insert song, and that's all that matters.

So that's why I felt the music player was missing a song or two. On that topic though, did Shade and Darkness not play in Rea's route? I don't remember it being played, but it's also kinda weird that they'd only play it in one route, as good as Marie was.

Wilhelm was unexpectedly really entertaining for a character that seemed so typical at first. Wasn't surprised to learn he had a spin-off VN after that, although iirc it didn't get funded. How are DI's sales figures right now? If it did well then maybe they'll bring the spinoff over?

Was supposed to be a part of the stretch goals at first but then they removed it for whatever reason and hid the rest of the goals.

As for the sales, not sure. But it has been getting quite a number of reviews for a VN on Steam. 123 to be precise and might rise in the future. Compare that to the other VNs that have been out for longer and things are looking decent. I hear it has also been seen on the Popular section a few times. So maybe it is going well? A bit hard to tell since the common route is free.

Reading up on light's history for releasing DI, I'm not surprised to hear the KS was pretty disastrous.

That's because light wants to sell physical merch. Makes sense, given that that's where much of their ends-meeting happens, but it's still a bummer for the people who backed all the way to that tier.

Great VN, bad kickstarter, don't let it hold you back. It's not the same kind of censorship that comes with Japanese games getting localized in principle anyway.
