Well, I dropped The Pagan Christ. Got way too repetitive and boring, not to mention the endless fawning over Kuhn and Massey...

Maanna literally means "Boat of Heaven".
I'm no longer playing KanColle. Waifus can only help me tolerate utter lack of actual gameplay for so long. My attention is currently divided between F/GO, the two D&D campaigns I DM, developing a d6-based ruleset for my next campaign, and Divinity Original Sin 2. And getting a permanent job, of course.
Also, I had no idea this thread existed. How cool.

Maybe I should've worded that differently, I mean, where it is actually called Maanna/boat of heaven, because sources I've got don't actually reference her boat by any kind of name--its later in the story and I guess they've already talked about the boat so it'll just say that she sails or whatever, already having introduced the boat.
This is what you get when reading university anthologies. Piecemeal myth.

Ah, sorry if I sounded condescending. The source is "Inanna and Enki", Segment F, lines 7-8:
kug dinana me mu-un-ur4-ur4 ma2an-na bi2-in-u5
ma2 an-na kar-ra zag bi2-in-tag
"But radiant Inanna has collected the powers and embarked onto the boat of Heaven.
The boat of Heaven has already left the quay."
There are over thirty more references to Maanna in the same story, referring to the heavenly boat Inanna used to escape from Enki after getting him drunk enough to give her the powers. It is implied she stole it as well.

I got dissed by Seika.
I am easy to amuse, so let it be known that this is my finest moment in BL. Nothing I post in Create-a-Servant will top this.
(I did actually check if you'd answered before I went to get a translation, saw you had, and then decided posting this was funnier).

@Seika: That only makes me happier.
I must admit I was amused by the sight of Ishtar!Rin driving Maanna, even if I was first a little peeved at the concept of Isthar!Rin. In my mind, the ideal characterization of the goddess Inanna/Ishtar is one that frightens me. As a simple, ordinary human being, Inanna should terrify me. A mortal character interacting with Inanna should feel like the slightest slip would render his life over. Inanna is supposed to be power incarnate. Ishtar!Rin is cute and funny and all that, but she 's not my Inanna. #notmyInanna.
She's more unsettling in the race event where they get rid of most of Rin's charm and make her far more conniving and selfish.
And then Rin comes back when it all goes to shit for her.
