Take a look at what GPUs are still in stock, and how much they cost.
You can sell a shitty second hand Vega 64 for $1200
thanks, cryptocurrency

Yeah, cryptocurrency boom has boosted graphics card prices, once the lull happens there should be a pretty easy time buying up cheap powerful graphics cards second hand.
[20:47:33] I3uster: in 2015 a crack memer was sent to skype prison by a court of his Peers for a crime he didnt commit. he promptly escaped from his Maximum security Forum into the twitter Underground. Today, still wanted by the skype Group he survives as memer of fortune. If you Need a shitpost, if nobody else can fuck up a thread, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire: June.

Also, if I move the Dies Irae folder from Steam/steamapps/common to anywhere else, and then uninstall Steam, I would still be able to run Dies Irae directly from the executables in the folder, right? More specifically, with my saves intact?
Edit: Well, my personal war to make myself Steam-independent has yielded... mixed results. My original saves are fine. However, in terms of running the game, I can run AEF just fine, but because AA was installed through Steam originally, I believe that this version of the AA executable requires Steam to run. In other words, with the steam.api.dll in my Dies Irae folder, there is no response when I try to run AA. If I delete the .dll file, the executable gives me an error message. Obviously, AEF is unaffected. For now, it's fine to just play AEF.
However, when I go back to AA to get Rea 2. I will either need to swallow my pride and reinstall Steam or get an AA executable that does not need Steam. This isn't quite pirating, as I bought the game. More about pride than profit. I've heard that, while this is not a legal issue (as I bought the game), it might be against Steam's ToS, but fuck, I don't care if Steam bans me.

dead hobby
Moore's law is expected to die around 2025 IIRC, right?
When there is too much love, too much compassion,
too much understanding, too much kindness, too much thankfulness, too much respect, and too much heart, then it becomes an act of cruel violence.
got a new rig coming in with a 1080 gpu and ryzen 1700 but its prebuilt with a 500w psu, is this problematic or should be fine for awhile?
its not about the size of the boat that matters, its the motion of the ocean
:^)
i had a weird thing happened to me
yesterday suddenly i cannot brows. Chrome just flat out refuse to load any page. Except youtube, but even then it wont load the video.
i thought i had problems again with my provider, but apparently i can torrent just fine.
then i checked safe mode with networking, then found out i can browse just fine. in fact, i wrote this post on safe mode.
can anyone give me an idea whats happening to me? is this a malware of sorts?
Could be a bunch of stuff, but it sounds like a temporarily unreachable DNS server.
don't quote me on this
ok, its solved
i literally have no idea what the hell was going on, but i tried following the solution of a guy who experienced the same with me
did a command prompt w admin rights. netsh i i r r and netsh winsock something.
gonna do a fullscan now. man that was scaary.
It's probably just your ISPs DNS server going down for a bit. Used to happen to me quite often.
I have recently bought a new acer laptop! very happy, beautiful and functional (after my old laptop it's just a mircale)!
Is anyone else intrigued by the next generation of Intel CPUs that's scheduled to launch October 1?
I read that Intel will use solder this time, which should help with temps when overclocked.
It will be interesting to see if the 8 core i7 and i9 can clock as high as the 8086k, and if the 8C 8T 9700k's lack of hyperthreading will hurt it in comparison to the 6C 12T 8700k.
can anyone recommend a latest GPU with best price to performance
mine suddenly got f-f-fried
