Yeah, I hear Granada now has an even worse start. Also a funny thing every game I've played on the new patch has had France get destroyed (and pretty much by a different nation each time, even Austria beat them!) despite Lucky Nations, etc. Wtf did they do lol.

I've seen super AI killing machine England for the first time since the very early patches, which I guess is nice?

No, man, you don't even know the start of it. Granada has an amazing start. Granada's start is so easy now that it shouldn't even count as one of the famously challenging starts anymore like Byzantium or Albania. You have so much leeway due to Castile no longer having cores (or even claims!) on your territories and getting into an unavoidable civil war 10-20 years after game start. That's not even getting into how you can constantly buff yourself through development, and how it's easier now to get a key alliance with the Ottomans. It's far from painless, of course, but it's no longer got the serious challenge of before. The primary objective to start, like before, is to take as much as you can from Castile in the beginning after subjugating Tlemcen, and you're set.

Since it requires a little bit of trial and error, though, it's not the most suitable for MP.

Like I said before, Burgundy is the new France. I was messing around again and watched Burgundy defeat France and Austria at the same time.

So I actually went and played it to see why France keeps getting fucked in the ass. For some reason, England can ally Savoy and bring them in on you, while the only one interested in war against England is Castille. Even Scotland gets a -40 modifier because they start off with Neutral opinion of England or something. The other nations England typically allies, Portugal, Savoy, Aragon, Venice, etc. can all be dealt with but the AI trying to attack Savoy or Aragon on mountain terrain is what kills them. Castille also often suicides their troops.

And if you rival Burgundy immediately they will attack you after war with England starts or if you get hit by a revolt.

Its pretty interesting.

I assume best starts are allying Savoy (to cause a malus so England doesn't ally them) and Castille and then DoWing England immediately (as in just after you get troops in place or the diplomats have gotten back) or possibly going after Provence and Brittany first.

England wrecks shit. Though, War of Roses do seem to hit them hard.

Anyway, if you survive the initial strife you will definitly become the BBB because the new building system and France is fucking OP.

*Starting a game then playing for a few turns before starting a new one because there are way too many interesting factions.

It sounds like we're going to be playing EU4? In that case, Bohemia.
