Thanks, but it's fine for this number of scenes. If I were doing the whole thing, I'd undoubtedly start automating a lot more of it, but since I'm not going to be using the vast majority of images anyway (and am therefore manually picking out the ones I need to work on as I go), the efficiency gain is fairly limited. The crops sort of have to be done by hand anyway, for maximum aesthetics.

First of all, we had that problem since Saber was summoned. We wouldn't have been in this trouble if the line to supply her with magical energy was established.

the wording here is a bit odd. I cant tell if the other way rin was referring to was eating souls had souls been an option, but since they aren't its on to the circuit transfer, or if she was obliquely referencing sex as an option

Yeah, I think the first scene actually resonates quite a bit with its predecessor, and part of that is some awkwardness in the staging. The second one seems readier to consciously recognise - but then to stand apart from - its vanilla counterpart, which produces something more clearly separate.
I admit to being kind of overwhelmed by the spectacle of the dragon reactor scene as I went through it the first time, though, because it felt like it had the budget of the entirety of vanilla FSN.

And, yeah, it's much less heavy on the CGs (though those stupid quarter-second flashbacks which I have to catch manually because they've got a filter over them ... ) My update comes to about seventeen meg, whereas this first one was seventy.

thinking about the way RN works as a replacement for vanillaFSN, Id imagine the 2 options scenario like this

option a: lets have sex <- replaced by circuit dragon shenanigans
option b: ??? <- remains unreplaced

and based on the mana consumption information we have, Rin might be talking about absorbing other humans mana, which would be very difficult to do in their situation (not that any of them would ever agree to it)

I turn back to look at Saber as I close the screen.
It feels like I'm doing something impure, so I quickly close it.

...I murmur strange things such as how troubling it is for a girl to be too beautiful.
Saber wouldn't understand what I mean, but my mind won't move unless I say this.





There's only one room and one futon, but Saber's with me.
I have no dirty thoughts, but my face is burning and I can't even sneak a glance at Saber.

"...Please go ahead, Shirou."
"No, you can go ahead..."

...No, we'll make no progress like this.
I slip under the futon, then make a space for Saber.
I try to give the pillow to her, but she quietly pushes it back towards me.

"You can use this.
May I, um... use your arm as my pillow?"
She murmurs such a thing.
Saber is in my arms and is surprisingly calm.
I'm not hugging her, but rather, she has settled in there.




We quietly fall asleep.
---But before that.

"Do you feel it, Shirou? My magical energy should be replenished by tomorrow morning at this rate. ...I can fight as your Servant starting tomorrow."
"Saber."

"......That is it for now, Shirou.
My role is to protect you and to obtain the Holy Grail. I cannot think about anything else until the battle is over."

"......Is that not right? Because you have..."

Do we have a way to defeat that king of heroes?

"......Yes. Let us think tomorrow, Shirou.
We might come up with a good plan tomorrow. And..."
---I would like to sleep like this for now.
She says so while gently clasping my hand.

"----Yeah. I wanted to do so too."
"......Yes. Good night, Shirou. ......Let us return to our previous selves when we wake up."
I close my eyes with her close to me.

......My last vision of Saber sees her smiling warmly.
I don't care if that was just for this night.
Right now, her hand is warm.
That is more than enough for me right now as I fall into a comfortable sleep.

its a really good scene, though I am not sure if its quite as good as holy shit shirou just got eaten by a fucking dragon


Still, it makes me think...who was it, arai? who might have been onto something when he speculated this scene and one or two others were where fate stay night gets its name from.

For those who dont remember, way back on old BL, he (or someone) thought Fate stay night came from the fact that fate has a lot of unavoidable partings in the morning. Saber is lost at the dawn in fate, rin parts from archer at dawn in the UBW, heck, even HF was intended to end with shioru having died in the cave with sakura waking without him, though that was later changed.

Anyway, hence the name, wishing the night would last a little longer.
