Board Suggestion - Info Posts

Hey guys,

I hope I am doing this right, but I thought I would suggest something that at least I would find useful, but hopefully others too. Would there be a way to make it so that when someone is posting, they could designate whether or not the post is new information about a product or release?

I love this place as both a community and as a resource for information. Usually, I come here to see if there are new video releases, images, or vital information about a product release. Most everyone here is super resourceful, so there are plenty of posts like that here, but often it gets flooded with people making jokes etc for pages and pages and it is difficult to locate the information about...say... Unlimited Blade Works for example when everyone is talking about shinji or whatever for 10 pages at a time. Which is fine with me, by the way! I just want to see if there would be a way to filter it at the time of posting, and a way for people to search for those "info/release posts" after the fact as well.

I hope my description is understandable. Any thoughts?

If we wanted to do that we COULD just make something like, a "UBW news thread" and only post news in it. Any other posts would then go into the general discussion thread related to it, like the UBW anime thread.

I don't think you can search by post titles or something, usually the new info most pertinent to a topic gets added to the OP.

Quite. The point was that this is something that could turn a currently useless feature less so.

When you use the Go Advanced reply, at the top you can add your own title to the post. The search by title option only applies, to my knowledge, to thread titles.

The post titles can however be used in conjunction with Threaded View instead it just showing the first few words of your post as a title.

I think the OP's idea is a good one.
It's pretty hard to keep up with all the threads in the TM subforum, and every time I'm inactive for a couple of weeks I end up missing some relevant news, translations or new material.

It would really be nice if individual posts could be tagged by the forum staff, and that those posts could be seen in a "digest" view without the surrounding chaff. Such tags could be "type-moon news", "type-moon translations", "type-moon material", and so on.
