    My group once stumbled into the boss room to find the boss chilling with what seemed to be clones of the whole party. Since half the group knew i could probably play their characters better than they could, they sort of freaked out.

    ...then the Paladin's player had an emergency and made the whole group wait an hour....staring at their clones across the room. Oddly enough no one figured to do a check or something to see if they were real. So they spent the whole hour trying to figure out how to most effectively kill themselves when they were truly nothing but crude copies.

    Hey, not TPK. I survived to report on everything to the NPCs.

    Everything that we were supposed to find out over a campaign, and instead accidentally found out in one session because of that crazy series of DC20 rolls and how events played out.

    And now all that info is going to the NPC lords because my PC is literally cursed and conditioned into obedience to his liege's every word.

    What mAc and Christemo are ranting about is that after beating the dungeon boss they ran into essentially the setting's final boss and since he's undead had to fight him (he had none of his gear though).

    It ended about as well as you'd expect, though they did crit him twice.

    I was a Lawful Good Paladin with an Oath Against Undead.

    The moment Siriel said he was undead and way out of anyone's league I knew we were dead since I wouldn't be able to just walk away and let him go. We tried a bunch of ways to talk it out and trick him but it ultimately came down to blows. Then when I sprang my surprise attack I rolled like a 3 and got KO'd in one hit.

    In that campaign-turned-oneshot I'm a Chaotic Neutral Oracle with the Legalistic curse with a fealty binding me to a lord.

    The other lord whom I was rented out to only ordered us to kill or capture a necromancer and bring back information on what he was plotting. Which we had already accomplished, so I just went back to report to the NPC overlords while the other two battled it out against their hated enemy. RIP.

    (My PC doesn't have anything against undead in particular.)

    My PC doesn't want to die until he at least finds out what it's like to live a life without constantly being bound to someone else's orders.

    (Chaotic character being made to live at a NPC's beck and call because of a curse, it's great)
