How could you have two parties fighting though. Wouldn't those be different games if they're two different groups of players.

If your players can't handle PvP they shouldn't do PvP.

Oh and to clarify my last comment since it might come off that way, I wasn't arguing but saying the danger is that you think PvP will work out, but then once it doesn't work out it's too late. So then the question becomes whether it's worth doing it anyway or risking it.

I always had a good-natured group that could take PvP well. In a way, player killing was often the highlight of a very good campaign.
