Κender as an idea aren't TOO terrible (though outside of Dragonlance they overlap with the halfling creative space too much): A race of fey half-children, perpetually in search of adventure for the sake of it rather than the material rewards. As written however, they are a walking, talking plot derailment device that is compelled to get the party in trouble in every possible way.
