"Lore" tends to carry a broader connotation, so that's what I'd go with. But, on the other hand, lore as a "history of magecraft and mysteries" could also potentially be covered by the Faculty of Archaeology along with ancient artifacts. Ultimately, it comes down to what each of these faculties do, which hasn't been clearly defined for most of them. It all depends on context that we don't have yet, so we'll probably have to wait and make predictions for now.

Yes, but I also think people tend to get very caught up on terminology; meanwhile you've got magus/mage/sorcerer/magic user running around for 魔術師, magician/sorcerer/witch for 魔法使い, prana/magical energy/mana/power/magic for 魔力....and all of those have different dictionary meanings or academic definitions or connotations too.

Welcome to the wonders of adaptive writing. Stay too long and you throw your hands in the air and go fuck it all, I do what I want.

@TwilightsCall Please take a look at https://gist.github.com/anonymous/99...0c407a0d9c6a6d. Think you could use this format to post your translations? If you do then I can automatically generate PDF, EPUB and MOBI files without any hassle. The only problem would be furigana but I'm sure most people would be fine with parentheses or somehow interweaving them into the translation itself. If you are wondering, that's Pandoc's version of Markdown - http://pandoc.org/MANUAL.html#pandocs-markdown

Maybe I shouldn't post since it's been a while and people might think there has been an update, but gomenasai.

Thank you for the translation so far. The first volume was just okay I guess but the second one is great so far, Reines is really cute. I think this might be my favourite Fate spinoff, the insight into how Clock Tower works is basically everything I've ever wanted.

    Spoiler:
I kind of want to know, does Byron Valuayeta Iselma end up being related somehow to Lord Byron? It seems unlikely but with the artist theme and the name I can't help but be reminded of him.

Certainly possible, but that's not exactly a rare name...

That and for the famous person you're referencing, that was his last name... It's like wondering if Grant Ward from Agents of Shield is somehow related to Cary Grant.

I mean sure, but 'Lord Byron' is quite literally what he is famously known by, and the magus (naturally) is called that a few times in the book. I find it hard to believe Sanda wasn't at least aware of how a connection might be made, especially when the nasuverse is normally full of strange names like Flat or Inorai.

Some months ago I hacked up together a bash script to take the HTML as input and output it with pandoc, it is a mess but maybe you can find something useful there.

The first volume was converted to a pretty good version by Draconic but it is seems to be offline now, you can still find my conversion here, it isn't as pretty as the other one IMHO but it is readable.

The pdf has entire sections where text is just a single block. I think those blocks nerd to be separated into paragraphs.

Hello! Thank you for the translations.
Since I'm about to read it, I made an epub for volume 1. I hope I didn't mess up anything.

Just in case it wasn't mentioned before, the novels are getting a manga adaptation.

    Really? Thank you for sharing.

P.S, I apologies for being ignorant, where can one read the translated novels? I am fine with any links to all the rough translations so far. I am at least curious if these people lived - Rosalind Istari, Flueger, and Faker; thank you, if anyone can tell me, if they were killed or not.

Um you can read them on this thread on the first page. It's just stuck at part 3 of Chapter 2 of Volume 2.
