I'm doing that Black Lagoon crossover where Revy winds up as Medea's Master. Decided to do a new cover art for it since I'm rewriting it.

You too, can learn to randomly click shit on an image manipulation program and come out with something not totally looking like a mess! It only takes lots of trial, error, and tears.

I'm working on a new one for Minds of Steel right now, actually. It's the "direct" sequel to You Are My King. If you want I can show how I did the process of making it once I finish it.

Hm. I realized how many pictures that would take, and explaining would be kinda hard without a video, I believe. Thus, I will tell you the primary tools I used for the below:

Falling Sky by Red



I cut out the Arturia you see from another image with the pen tool (use this if you want to cut something out precisely) and layered her over the background images, which are a mixture of two-three different things to create the hill she's sitting atop, and the swords in the field behind her, etc. For those I set them to a combination of normal and overlay, which is honestly what I just did for everything else. Normal, overlay, and darken.

For the grail at the top, I used the elliptic marque tool to make a circle, filled it with black, and then added lighting effects (filter-->render-->lighting effects) to make it that red glow (also layered and I used all three types available (point, spot, infinite)). I then put it all together in one image and added the blotches (blood splatters brushes) and, once again, played around with the layer blending mode (which has those normal/overlay/etc options) and finally took an image of old parchment to put over everything.

It still feels incomplete to me, but for now that's what I got.

Oh, and if you look closely, you can see a tiny, faded Arturia kneeling on the hill with her sword. I was originally going to have the foreground Arturia (the one in front, illuminated by the grail glow) be Saber Alter, and did, but I dunno, it didn't fit as well.

Also it's not Minds of Steel because I decided to move the story told in Minds of Steel to Hero Fall, and have Minds of Steel then be the sequel to that.

You know, if I ever get around to writing 'em.
