Oh yeah, I really liked that option with SF4. I think that changed what the other person sounded like too, though. I actually liked being able to make the other person hear JP or English since it was like choosing a character color in a way.

Ruby's IK is between 44-46 minutes in and Weiss' is about 54-56 minutes.
I'm okay with Weiss' but Ruby's is trash.
So, I downloaded the trial beta of Cross Tag on the Switch. It feels weird.
On the moves: Only two attack buttons, both with autocombo's on them, a tag button, an assist button, and a button which acts like Dust in Guilty Gear on it's a team up move rather than a launcher. All specials quarter circles like they did in DBFZ, with two meterless and the third as a 1 bar cost for a best version. Supers are all motions with 2 and 3, which is the same combination as grab so lots of whiffed grabs when you were trying to throw lightning at half screen.
There's lots of stuff to do with tags/assists. There's raw switching, three moves per assist to chose from depending on whether you hit forward neutral or back. You can have an assist turn to a tag and gain boost to meter accumulation, or use a tag as a combo breaker.
The strangest thing though is how fucking quick it goes. You have three minutes per match but I'll be damned if any lasted more than thirty seconds. Two or three autocombo's can basically empty a health bar. Less if you finish it with a super or cancel the combo into a special that you can juggle them into another autocombo.
It's fun, but it feels too simplified. That's good in some cases, like removing the systems of Makoto or Azrael, or bad in some like trying to string together moves without using the autocombo's. I don't think I'll buy it at launch, but maybe once the DLC are all out. Or they announce Labrys or Hilde.

Apparently Cross Tag got datamined from the beta. Remaining DLC characters seem to be Mitsuru, Akihiko, Labrys, Merkava, Mika, Yuzuriha, Nine, Mai and Izayoi.

I’m hearing some speculation from announcer datamining that we have some names that correspond with Senran Kagura characters
which is leaving me hoping that it’s true because lol at the salt that will follow and I want Cross Tag Battle to be even more of a trash fire than it is already
Yeah moving from CF to CTB feels really off. Playing Tager, the switch of the 360s to 214s and the 236s to just B felt weird. That and having to figure out how to get the equivalents of 6C, 2C, 3C, 6A, etc.
Glad for being able to pick the language for individual characters though.
Also oh dear god Nine's gonna be back. Just great. Wonder how much of her spell system'll get ported with her though.
Based on all the other BB characters missing their systems I'm guessing she'll have a few spells in the autocombos and that's it.
