Hmm, I should post pictures of my (fully working) replica of Edward Elric's pocket watch from Fullmetal Alchemist here.

leather watch bands flake and tear easily and can get all soggy with sweat in the hellfires of summer

metal watch bands are all jingly and loose

Then don't get a leather watch band or metal watch band. Get a rubber one, like I have (I need one, since my skin tends to get allergic reactions to the other two types of armbands). They're water proof (obviously) and don't get soggy, and they're much more durable and don't flake or (easily anyway) tear. They're also not loose or jingly at all, are still light, and are comfortable.

I don't wear watches because it used to be impossible for them to not slip off my wrist unless I mutilated them and poked more holes in them.

Two watches: a Seiko Stargate, blue dial and black bezel; and a to-be-retired Seiko Black Knight kinetic, battery inside needs replacement since it doesn't hold more than ~8-10 hours of runtime at this point.

Casio Edifice ERA-200RB Red Bull version. Worn it most of the time and it has taken some beatings but my previous watch stays for nearly 10 years and i hope the same with this one

I love my solar-powered G-Shock. Have worn it 24/7 for almost 6 years. I need to get a more mature looking watch for business/formal outfits though.

Not my photo, but same model. Mine is much more beat up from banging on ambulance and gurneys and car wrecks and being scrubbed hard a few times to get all the dirt and body fluids out. The strap has been replaced twice.

I wear a Fitbit. I also own a watch that tells time in kanji but I haven't worn it in years because I had to get it rebanded when the latch broke but it came back too small and I never fixed it.

Every watch I've never lost I've broken, so I'm on my tenth watch or so now.

I still have it, but the band broke and I still haven't gotten it replaced; my watch tan even went away. It's a black Casio digital watch, water-resistant at 100 meters, the usual.

No calculator, though.

Worn all the time whenever I'm not doing any clinical work, so they take a bit of a beating.

As much as I like electronic gadgets of all sorts (well, mostly computer/related equipment), I also have a particular fascination with mechanical devices, as well as having things function without the need for electricity...

Edit: Oops, it's the 'Stargate II', not the first model that people dubbed the 'Stargate'.
