leather watch bands flake and tear easily and can get all soggy with sweat in the hellfires of summer
metal watch bands are all jingly and loose
meanwhile, cell phones fit everywhere and are useful for other things too

I have my pocketwatch on me at most times. Engraved with that design from Dr. Who.
I also have a really beat up Timex that has given me nothing but trouble, but still survived like three crashes on my bike that took me out for days. It's like a cockroach. About as pretty as one too.
