And yeah, I have seriously considered volunteering once I finish my exams.
The Metropolitan Police have a big volunteer scheme which I am interested in.

Yeah, I hear you, adi. Working towards Chemical Engineering at the moment, but sometimes I feel like I really should be helping people more directly -- ended up finding a nice compromise by working as a cabin counselor at a YMCA summer camp when I can.

Not all that long, but it's intense. The kids are basically depending on you and your co-counselor(s) nearly all day, every day for a week, then one free day and it starts all over again with a new cabin. Having that kind of impact on a kid really is a unique experience.

(My grandmother is from India, if I returned to India and taught English or helped in orpahanages or something).

I already plan to go to Japan eventually though - for self enrichment.

I earn enough money for a week by working 1 day at my part time job.
So I can fit volunteering in with my part-time job.
