Well when you meet Mordred for the first time she outright says, "So that's where you were. No wonder you didn't respond to the summoning."

Maybe it's because of the difference in summoning methods used by Lion King and Chaldea and something something how do demiservants work

Putting this together with what we know it kinda sounds like servants are less "copies" of the original HS and more like an astral projection.
