Machines do not lose their worth when a newer model appears.
Their worth (life) ends when humans can no longer bear that purity.

This seems to indicate that Mordred intervention was not influenced by the QTL. Things could have gone more smoothly, like Saber said: "An end like in a slumber". Or am I misinterpreting this? For Britain, King Arthur's efforts were merely delaying the inevitable. Everything was to come crumbling down someday, for the age of gods had already ended. But Mordred turned this slow decline into absolute destruction.
Mordred just accelerated the inevitable and caused more damage than it usually would've been.
'It might be possible to save some number of people, but the great motion of human history cannot be undone.'
That, but the not so desireable direction. You basically have some room to influence the specifics.
Guess that aside of the little changes that you achive facing a QTL the next best posible action would be recording as many heroes for the ToH. Seems like the only thing that can "bypass" the inevitability of the locks.
