Repelling Sefar was probably a instance of unrestrained calibur since that's kind of it's purpose in the first place and makes sense from a narrative standpoint.

Well from what i understand the seals were always a part of it from what i gather from prototype but Nasu set them aside when doing Stay Night so its probably not a retcon but more of a thing that never had a chance to be implemented or something...
