No, but it doesn't need to be a book for it to become famous in the minds of men. King Tut's discovery was a big sensation in it's time and advanced the worlds knowledge on the forgotten ancient egypt considerably since his tomb was so well intact. The discovery also spawned most of the rumors and stereotypes that media has of Ancient Egypt, the death curse being the biggest. By comparison the Mummy movies while good was just released at the turn of the century, in 1999. And Imhotep's reputation and legend is mostly intact as a great scholar and polymath and was not distorted as it was for Vlad. Tut on the other hand went from an old and forgotten king to one of the biggest names in Ancient Egypt whose life was veiled in mystery or at least that's how the media will want you to believe.

There is huh, still I think Tut would be more associated with mummies then Imhotep. When I think of Imhotep I just think of a badass magician who created the concept of the pyramids.

So what's actually up with the sword tracing part?

Assuming "Tsumaragi Muramasa" is supposed to be the sword he's projecting, is that then supposed to be the tsumaragi-no-tachi/kusanagi? Or did Muramasa forge some tsumaragi sword of his own at some point? Because if it's the former, then I'm more confused by the "muramasa" suffix seeing how I'm pretty sure that wasn't crafted by him, unless that's just something added because muramasa servant powers.

Is this talked about more before/after the scene at all, because I'm sort of at a loss here unless it's some TM original stuff

The scene after had him dissipate into particles since using Tsumugari with only a Servant's body is like using Stella. Presumably, you need to have a body equals to a God to use it without going poof.

Okay, so it is something of a trace then, though it's probably not a normal copy of the original like what Emiya does but from what it seems to me it's like Muramasa using his own skills to create a sword on the same level using the grass-cutter as a model. That's just my thoughts though on just what I saw of Muramasa's character so I'm probably wrong.
