So it's implied that the real reason Holmes got there that fast is because if Elementary, My Dear, right? It guarantees every mystery must be solvable, after all, and if the PoV dies it can't be solved.

I'm not quite sure how you see a major plot point (if you make assumptions based on the characters' appearances you will get it wrong) that was explained to us, and even demonstrated in-story right at the very start with us mistaking Morris for a cross dressing woman, as a plot twist made in "poor taste" (do issues concerning fraternal twins being mistaken for their mothers due to hallucinations on the part of the beholder somehow offend you on a deeply personal level?), but sure...
Never have i thought id heard those 2 words together

Conan is garbage because glaciers melt at a faster pace than its story and lol of course Aoyomaw would say that
Speaking of Conan, I remembered playing a GameBoy game of it when I was little. Suffice to say, I couldn't beat it because
1. It's in Japanese
2. I played the minigames instead
Good times

Wasn't there a game that features the crossover between Kindaichi and Conan? But the name Conan always remind me of Arnold.
I'm surprised Detective Conan is still alive frankly. I gave up on it like two years ago, and the fact that it still hasn't ended probably proves the plot is still moving at a snail's pace.
One can say Conan is another example of the theory saying Detectives are the true bringers of calamity & deaths with how ordinary laymen suddenly turn into "criminal masterminds" whenever there's one around the area.
Also amused by the idea that from how long its been running, Japan's population keeps dropping in an alarming rate w/ all the extra complicated murders per arc/episode/chapter.
i actually bingeread conan everytime my friend told me theres something substantial happened with the blackies
which is like every 200 chapters or so i think
I watched some of the show whenever it was on TV early in the morning and I thought what I watched of it was pretty entertaining. I can't speak for someone who's read the manga though.
Spoiler:
Isn't Conan basically made for younger children? I know that doesn't automatically mean adults can't enjoy a story, or that said story can't be surprisingly deep, but it seems a little strange to be judging a "mystery" series aimed at elementary school kids by the same standards as mystery stories aimed at adults.
If the manga drags on, the anime drags ten times more. Basically the same as Naruto, filler chapters for the whole purpose of selling more DVD/BD later.
There's murder, theft, kidnapping and other crimes. Even Conan himself gets shot in his child form. So yeah, this isn't for children.
Because I find it to be boring, simple as that. A twist that doesn't serve to engage a reader is a twist that shouldn't be written. I'd have enjoyed it more if it were Medusa instead of Raikou representing Eva, as it would show how first impressions can be wrong while still showing why it's important that Gudako sees everyone as they do.
