i used to bear some deslike for Oryou due to her beinf a stand thst makes peace signs every time and making me feel like i am being trolled, but the more i read about her abilities and dialogue lines, the more i like her

It's less trolling but more laid-back and carefree.

Reminds me a bit of Shimarin from Yuru Camp which is a very good thing.

She totally was just healing you. She wasn't drooling in hunger, no sirree.

Well, she actually wanted to eat us the first time around but since Okita Alter is always beside us she hardly has the chance to.

So Ryoma has Riding A+, which made me go WTF for a moment, and made me curious as to why he has that skill at such high value. But then I remembered that Martha also made me go WTF when I saw she had A++ in that skill, despite barely any anecdote that justified it (at least that I know of).

And it made me think that maybe, the reason they have those high values is because they have dragons as their NP and they can ride them. Because of that, by default their Riding skill lets them ride any dragon (or at least Martha is able to), and because they need a lot of skill to do so, their Riding skill is increased to levels that are clearly beyond what they're supposed to have so they're able to.

Kinda wish that they explained the exception Martha gets in her mats. Both Jeanne Alter and Quetzalcoatl sure received a good explanation as to why they can ride dragons, and it's a pity she was left aside in that explanation.

i think its more about the difference than holding the rein versus letting others hold your rein
or to be more precise the difference between having skills->becomes able to ride and gets to ride->got the skills

So within a span of two weeks we have two newcomer servants, who were both "one time miracle", bound to disappear forever after their missions are over, and cried upon departing from Guda/Hakuno...
This is not good for heart at all ( ;___; )
Well, at least in the end they were saved so still happy endings I guess.

Zero had the better soundtrack, story and presentation. Infinity edged slightly ahead on gameplay.

What's the reason for Okita Alter being all sleepy? Doesn't seem like it's been brought up in the story so far (chapter 8), and considering the tone it's set by now, I doubt it will later on.

Beowulf really is amazing. It's interesting to see his view on being a leader compared to the other kings in this franchise. Makes me wish we got to see him interacting with other kings more often, especially with the contrast in style between him and Artoria. She felt the king had to be perfect and take care of everything, meanwhile he felt the king should teach the people to manage themselves without the king's input in case of the king's death. It seems like he felt the king should be more of a teacher than a leader.

The interesting part of seeing how Beowulf rules is that he rules so that his people can remain without him, that they needn't rely on heroes. Beowulf lived in a era where monsters roamed where only the strong could beat them, yet he aspired to create a realm where such a thing wasn't needed (which probably had to do with killing a lot of monsters, like the mats said Beowulf saw destruction and creation as the same coin). I find this interesting. I also wonder if Beowulf was responsible in furthering the Age of Man as Artoria did as they were from the same era. That is dealing with mysteries and monsters (Artoria was wielding Rhon and being the last of the mythical kings, Beowulf killing a lot of monsters) so that anything mystical migrated fully to the reverse side or died out.

Finished reading the event story finally. Was pretty good, I love serious Nobu, and the ending was sad and sweet. Didn't really empathize a lot with Mitsuhide though, so there's that.

Also, something I'm kinda unsure of, is it just in that one timeline that Okita was on death's door after birth? And in our regular timeline it's the same as history, in that she lived to be an "adult" and then died from her sickness? Because otherwise the whole "trade your soul to continue living" deal doesn't really make a lot of sense in other timelines...
