Sounds like it's either human goes "i'm jelly of this utopia perfect world where improvement is no longer a thing" -pruned- or this world is too sad and hard to live in" -pruned-
Something
With this new info I still don't know how to tie it to the whole "too many parallel worlds = bad for the solar system" thing in Extella. Like, was the pruning being done to both keeping the parallel world tree in control so that it won't fuck with the solar system, or the pruning is done becaus lul human will, or both???
It's not really jealousy so much as humanity has no reason or motivation to improve in a utopia, and there are things out there that would eat humanity alive (sometimes literally) if humanity doesn't continue to evolve and find ways to fight back (which is kind of funny given "older is better" is a thing in the Nasuverse).
Well the thing about pruning is that it was always about human history, not universe history. Human history, the Human Order, the greater Pan-human History. Etc etc. has a lot to do with humans. It makes sense that it’s under Alaya’s desicion. Not like say Gaia or other planets. If it was then Humans wouldn’t have become separate from the world in the first place
"Only in my company, will you not be a monster"
anywhere than here
No, I was referring to the whole thing about the expansion of parallel worlds without pruning will collapse the solar system within a short time plus there's not enough energy to support all of these worlds so the pruning was done to make sure there is enough space for 100 millions years, this was stated at the beginning of Altera route. But here the pruning is done because those worlds are unnecessary to the human history. The statement in Extella made it sound like the pruning is done as a measure to preserve the limited energy source and prevent the destruction of this dimension by flooding the solar system, but the statement about lostbelts here made it seem like the pruning is done because these alternate history are deemed shitty by the collective will of humanity. This leads to my point about whether these 2 purposes are mutual, or something different.

Except Aife was only a possibility, not a 100% certainty? Way I remember it, everybody figured she was either Aife or Caster Scathach. Heck, I think I recall some predicting she'd have the connection to Skadi. No one ever said, "It can't possibly be anyone other than Aife!"
You're basically comparing two different situations.
Why would they need to? They already exist, so unless someone goes back in time to alter events leading up to them they're predetermined to come along.

And what do we know about hypothetical Charlotte Corday that makes her a 100% certainty that we didn't know about Caster Skathach?

Once and always and nevermore.
That's what I thought as well, but that doesn't explain why the unlimited growth of the parallel world tree will affect the entire solar system and flood the dimension. Basically I want to know the scale of this dimension where the tree is growing in that if without restrictions it would ruin this dimension and for some reason also fuck with not just Earth but the entire solar system (means the other planets are also affected by this), I want to know where this energy source fueling the growth of this tree came from.
Maybe the pruning itself is mandated by solar system, while Alaya decides who gets shafted.
EDIT: Although if I remember correctly, Alaya represents the will to survive, so maybe it some other force of similar nature.
If all we have is "French woman in a top hat" then I expect anyone from Charlotte Corday to genderbent Robespierre, is all I'm saying.

Pseudo-servant Charlotte Corday in Ayaka's body because, why not?

This makes me wonder; if there's another planet with civilization (outside our solar system), would that planet also has to undergo the alternate world pruning?
If it's for the sake of energy management as implied in Extella then this phenomenon should be universal?
