Ash is a hero as mighty as Shiva, he is on the same level as Karna and Arjuna in their life and fought them back then. There's no reason for Karna to use an inferior attack than VS on the guy of his lvl that he knew so well, especially when he is trying to end the fight asap to get the team away.

The historical D'eon was intersex, so they were both at the same time from the start. Which parts you get to play with as a Servant is up to the Master's kinks, I'd assume.
