But in general, aside from the rape this season has been pretty good. Every scene with Gaga is gold.
Admittedly I watched only the last few eps and that's probably why it was a mess for me.

Every season is a different story, the actors just reappear. Basically, season 1 is about a haunted house and is trash, season 2 is about an asylum and is amazing, season 3 is about witches and is really good, season 4 is about a circus and sucks ass & now season 5 is about a vampire hotel with lots of blood and sex. That doesn't change the fact that you just jumped in and watched the last few episodes of the season and expected to understand anything, then blamed the show when you didn't.
Even if a season is a different story if the characters are the same at least you get the context of their personalities and history from watching previous seasons.
