[X] Luna
Fine, I'll switch my vote for the other side.
I suppose Luna it is then. I would've preferred for him to practice on as many fighting styles as he can, but I guess one is better than none.
[X] Luna
Also, as a FYI, I'm heading into New Orleans for some business - probably won't be able to do much writing between now and Anime Expo.
[X] Luna
Right then, [x] Luna it is.
Choice 178: Lockhart is not particularly surprised when Shinji (and Luna) comes to him asking for some advice and training before he heads off to the Isle of Thule, given his own reputation as a great adventurer. The man inquires if there is anything in particular Shinji wanted to learn about, or if he just wanted an overview of how to survive in an unknown land.
"Not, of course, that you don't already have some experience, given your expeditions to acquire familiars," the man notes with slight smile. "Or so I hear, given the tale my apprentice spins. So...would you like to tell me what you and your familiar are capable of, so I can better tailor my advice and training?"
Shinji decides to...(choose one)
[ ] Be upfront about his abilities and Zelkova's
[ ] Give some generalities about his skills
[ ] Ask Lockhart to advise him as if he was a novice
[ ] Ask Luna to give her impressions of his skills, since he is not entirely objective
[X] Be upfront about his abilities and Zelkova's
[X] Ask Luna to give her impressions of his skills, since he is not entirely objective
This has the advantage of being upfront, in that we'll get tailored advice, but without needing to completely show our hand. Not that I think there's necessarily anything wrong with showing our hand to Lockhart; I just think it's better to be safe. Also, we just voted to have Luna here, so let's have her be useful.
Too bad I can't choose to let both of them talk about everything to not miss anything... So I guess he's to be upfront about his abilities.
If you want to propose a write in, feel free.
Thank you, although I feel like this is cheating the choice a bit, because I would only combine the first and fourth choice and have nothing else to really add myself to make it a proper write-in.
Still... If that is acceptable for you then I'd vote for a combination of both these choices. I think this way Luna could for example point out certain bad habits he may not have noticed. If that is not acceptable then as said I would prefer for him to explain himself rather than leaving it all to Luna.
Please have votes in by end of day, June 27. Thanks!
Choice 178:
[x] Ask Luna to give her impressions of his skills, since he is not entirely objective
Well, since we have our sparring partner here - let's use it.
Let's go with the combo idea, but I think we need to actually do a write in for that, so...
[X] Write in: Shinja and Luna are upfront about Shinji's and Zelkova abilities and their ability to work as a team.
Rationalization here is that both talking is better than just one of them talking about it, and will give Lockhart the information that he needs to gave his last bit of help. I was also trying to make this write in not completely just us trying to grab two choices here.
I am just going to call it now that Lockhart will make some comment that it would have been better had Shinji given this info at the start of this year's training.

[x] Be upfront about his abilities and Zelkova's.
But have Luna chime in if she feels like correcting Shinji.
On a completely different tangent, did a 10 roll in GO.
5x Jing Ke
1x Kojiro
3x False Attendant's writings
1x Gem Magecraft
...ominous. So many Assassins.
TIE between:
[2] Be Upfront
[2] Have Luna give her impressions
[2] Shinja and Luna are upfront about Shinji's and Zelkova abilities and their ability to work as a team.
Tiebreaker open for 48 hours.
kay, i'll switch to Skull Leader's write-in
[2] Shinji and Luna are upfront about Shinji's and Zelkova abilities and their ability to work as a team.
Let's get the max from it.
