In the end, it was a car crash that got you - which would have disappointed you, had anyone told you beforehand. But you weren’t so ready and detached from the noise, the pain, the fire, until your body gave up its spirit. And, as it happened, your last living thought was that dying was remarkably easy, like falling back into soft, churning water. Though that made little sense, without a body to feel anything.
Was that it, though? It didn’t feel like dying as you possibly could have imagined, but living a dream on a snowy, twilight field, smothered in clouds. It felt neither hot nor cold - it felt like nothing at all, except a strange sense of vertigo; but that was before the realization that it was more than you and the universe. There was a small paper, perhaps the size of a notecard, in front of you - as in front as it could be, at least? You had no eyes to see it with, but you felt the writing regardless.

And all, apparently, the universe wanted to know about your life was your gender, and whether you were good or bad?
