What would you do if you were a mage?

Let's say that you are a mage in the Nasuverse. Everything about your status as a mage are fairly average; average mage lineage, average magic circuits, etc. Given your current knowledge and understanding of Nasuverse lore and its magic system, what would you do as a mage? What kind of magecraft would you develop and how? What would you use it / them for? What would be your ultimate goal as a mage? What organizations would you join if any? I'm curious to see what you all will come up with.

Drop out of college and go the Clock Tower, I guess. Maybe study under Waver since he seems to turn people into high ranks.

Buy ALL the quartz, then roll for all my GO waifus and husbandos.

Legit answer: I would devise a spell that destroys harmful bacteria that resist antibiotics. As for the actual craft, I'd go with the native magecraft here, which involves using insect familiars to curse people.

At no point is the HGW/Servants mentioned. It's just "you're a magus of average ability and lineage in the Nasuverse, what do?" Doesn't mention if it's Fate, KnK, or even Extra (though probably not).

Personally, I'd get as far out of dodge in terms of the Supernatural world as possible and focus on using magecraft to cheat at real life, instead of doing dumb stuff like gaining superpowers for dumb things like Reaching the Root.

Cheating in real life means you are free to fuck up by Church or MA though doesn't it?

Probably smarter to look for an organization that can offer a degree of protection.

More like a degree of guaranteed backstabbing. Nah, I'd just go to the Supernatural equivalent of the boonies and do nothing of any interest to anyone. As long I keep my head down, chances are I'll not be bothered.

Not like anybody cares about an average magus in the MA. Stabbing is probably not gonna happen.

Unless you start writing your rebellious thesis.

Fair point, but like you said, nobody cares about an average Magus. MA don't care because "lol what a loser, come back in a couple centuries N00B." Church don't care because they have better things to do as long as you don't disturb the peace. DAA don't care because Random N00B Magi are worthless.

So yeah, I'd rather just ensure that I'm on the other side of the planet from all the Crazy A-holes so I don't get mixed up in anything. (Though it would be funny to write a rebellious Thesis about how trying to reach the Root is stupid, pointless, and futile and Magi should find better things to do with their time)

Best choice is to get access to as many magecraft books as possible, hole yourself in a basement for decades and aim to become a DA. It's a realistic goal if the obsession is high enough. Then go from there.
The priest was waiting for the arrival of the princess, who was only an enemy of all of them.
For the priest, the golden princess was the one and only main heroine.
Everyone else was unworthy of his respect, no matter how strong they were.
