If the background is all white, use fuzzy select, turn on feathered edges (and turn it down to like 3), then select all parts you want transparent. Then go Select > Grow > 1 pixel, and then do Color to Alpha > White.
In other cases, you might have to clean it up manually, which is what I did for the third. In that case, you can use blur to try hide imperfections, enough so that when scaled down, it doesn't show up.
