So, sex scenes.

I remember reading Knights of the Black and White by Jack Whyte way back when (printed in 2007 or so) and the one thing I remember is the sex scenes. They were very... detailed. Yes, tell me all about how this old bishop plowed the beautiful maiden down to each and every pelvic thrust and pleasureful grunt or how it's boring the maiden because he doesn't have enough vigor to keep it up so she imagines he's actually the handsome knight she can't have because sacred Templar vows and oh how good it would feel to have his hard cock ramming into her over and over again instead of this placid, lumpy old man stub and something something 'his hairy grey balls'.

Basically, how much is too much, would y'all say?

Like, I personally think it would feel more genuine and less desperate or gratuitous if you thought about how your POV character views sex. Like are they more liberated or traditional? Nervous or excited? Vulgar or polite in how they'd discuss it. And it can fall on a continuum or vary for each character, but. If the character would never call a penis a cock, maybe your narrative shouldn't. If your character wouldn't be so technical as to mention the pubis mons, your narrative shouldn't either. Detail and the way it's given can help with immersion imo.

I specifically focused on things that have actual stories and shit happening...Point is I need more yuri with actual plot and action and shit and it's annoying to have such a damned hard time finding it, especially in what's probably my favorite fandom which is SO GOOD FOR IT but it NEVER HAPPENS.

There's really no point in complaining about it when you're only looking at some tiny little sampling of fandoms out there, half of which it's legitimately impossible or improbable to pair up the sex or gender you're thinking of when they don't actually exist in those fandoms.
