What exactly is the flow of a joke?
The thing I sleepily explained earlier. If I can find it I'll link Arashi's post.
Imagine that the world is made out of love. Now imagine that it isn’t.
Imagine a story where everything goes wrong, where everyone has their back against the wall, where everyone is in pain and acting selfishly because if they don’t, they’ll die.
Imagine a story, not of good against evil, but of need against need against need, where everyone is at cross-purposes and everyone is to blame.

Sorry, I've never written a joke in English or studied their structure, so I'm having trouble connecting that to writing smut.

I found it. And oh, that makes sense. It hadn't occurred to me that'd be a language issue since you know English so well.

Ah, I see what you both meant now. It does feel like a good way to 'ground' things, in a sense.
Thanks!
Puns are not jokes, they are an unfortunate byproduct of civilization.
<NEW FIC!> Revolution #9: Somewhere out there, there's a universe in which your mistakes and failures never happened, and all you wished for is true. How hard would you fight to make that real?

What's interesting to me is that we're still scandalizing citrus fruits in this part of the internet. In AO3 land, smut has obtained a more forgiving and broad definition.

My Fanfics. Read 'em. Or not.McJon01: We all know that the real reason Archer would lose to Rider is because the events of his own Holy Grail War left him with a particular weakness toward "older sister" types.

Connolly-kun's 'Servant Skill Level Priority Spread Sheet'!
People have been bugging me about it, so I guess I'll start asking here.
Any more interest in more exchanges? I'm not sure if putting so many exchanges back-to-back would be wise, lest we start tiring of them, but people seem to be interested.
On another note, if we were to start another one, would you rather it be themeless (like Secret Santa) or themed (like White Day and lemons)? As for possible themes, I was thinking of doing pairings (anything focusing on two char's relationship, be it romantic or friendly or antagonistic) for Tanabata. Thoughts?
Linger: Complete. August, 1995. I met him. A branch off Part 3. Mikiya keeps his promise to meet Azaka, and meets again with that mysterious girl he once found in the rain.
Shinkai: Set in the Edo period. DHO-centric. As mysterious figures gather in the city, a young woman unearths the dark secrets of the Asakami family.
The Dollkeeper: A Fate side-story. The memoirs of the last tuner of the Einzberns. A record of the end of a family.
Overcount 2030: Extra x Notes. A girl with no memories is found by a nameless soldier, and wakes up to a world of war.
I'm all for more exchanges, especially ones of the romance type.

My sense of the vague fanfic writers' buzz, on and off forum, says that burnout isn't approaching yet.
I generally feel themed exchanges are more interesting, and I think it does help people to get some guidance for their prompts in that way. They're not always easy to come up with. And, when they've done that, they're probably also in a mindset more attuned to the prompts that they're going to be getting too.
