Now I'm wondering too. Though I think I may need to change my sig after seeing this last post.

Rin and Shirou as parents… it has cuteness potential. I rarely ever see any straight-up Rin/Shirou fics, and a story where they've already tied the knot could be adorable.

But you see, that's the plot twist FGO is leading up to. The protagonist really is ten years old, and the teenagers we've been seeing are just delusions created in Matthew Kyrielight's head. This whole time Matthew's had a shota/lolicon fetish, but she stays in denial of it; constantly calling the protagonist "senpai" to fool herself into thinking she's younger than they are.

Fate/Grand Order's story is really about Shielder coming to the realization that she's a pervert.

Would explain why she gets excited from smelling the air in his/her room.

Can someone point me to a chapter or two in Apocrypha that gives a good display of Mordred's character? I've got an idea for a writing exercise that I want to try, but I can't bring myself to read all of Apocrypha to try and get a bead on her for something that will probably end after 4k words or so.

If anyone can point me to a chapter (or a couple) where she is featured prominently, that would be super helpful. I don't care too much about what's happening in the scene, and evidently don't mind spoilers, I'm just looking for something to get a better grasp on her character.

In conversation or battle would be fine. I'll go take a look at the GO stuff real quick as well though.

Actually reading through the entirety of London would be pretty good considering she's the main Servant in that.
Other than that start from page 98 of vol 5 of Apo and just read the mordred parts? That's her biggest fight.
And page 213 of vol 4 to the end of that section has mordred in some "normal" conversation. By normal i mean like battle planning.

When you get stuck on a section, do you ever just leave it and just work on whatever comes after until you unstick yourself, or no?

I did with my KnK fic because I had it divided by one character's interactions with different characters. For other kinds of narratives I would think that would be hard, but I've heard a lot of people say that this technique works for them overall. Particularly if there's a scene that is really clear to you or that you're really looking forward to writing, it might be a good idea to write that while you've got it and build your story's supporting structure around it. The downside to that, in my opinion, is that if you write the thing you were looking forward to most first that you might just not feel like completing the scaffold you need to hold it up. Just depends on how you end up feeling about your work as to whether I would think that would work. Anyway, that's my two cents.
Imagine that the world is made out of love. Now imagine that it isn’t.

Imagine a story where everything goes wrong, where everyone has their back against the wall, where everyone is in pain and acting selfishly because if they don’t, they’ll die.
Imagine a story, not of good against evil, but of need against need against need, where everyone is at cross-purposes and everyone is to blame.

"Whatever comes next"? You write linear? That's adorable.

    screw you organized mind people

  16. #836
I can't write nonlinear. That's why I rarely ever write anything.

I try to perceive the work from a reader's perspective, and with my experience as a reader massively outweighing my experience as a writer, the only way I can do that is by going through everything the only way a reader could. Which is limiting and tedious.

Same, I write linear, but at this point I might ditch that practise.

I write so nonlinear that I have the final threeish chapters of Hearts done already. It's just getting to that point that's a pain in the ass.

Writing linearly keep the story flowing in the right direction in your mind. However, when you can't write a certain bit and want to get stuff done, it makes sense to write something further down the line.
