Fate/Extella - New EXTRA Action Game

I think I'm one of the few fans who really want to see her dark side and cut down the gag stuffs. i want to see her deal with it and grow from it. She's been hiding from it for so long and I'm hoping FGO will dive into it more, considering FGO Tamamo is alot more open about that. Sure gag and kawaii fanservice stuffs are nice, but that's not the legendary evil monster that I grew up reading stories about. I was really hyped when I saw her dark side in CCC and I got high expectations when I saw the FGO promo CE hinting that she's pulling Daji shit in Extella. But what I got was "JUST A PRANK BRO LUL!". Massive blueballs.

Yeah, that's good, I loved the soundtrack he made for automata, I can't wait to hear what he created for this game !
We're talking here about the remaining servants, but at least two or three of them should be new and evil, no? I mean what kind of Servant could be using that huge "spaceship" we can see in the key visual?

I doubt it. One of the reasons their doing the story this like because they thought that Extella was to restrictive on the characters you play. So while yes the three heroines probably won't play that big of a part but neither would the side Servants since the point of it is that you can go through the story with whatever Servant you want.

story didn't really seem to have anything interesting, and the only thing of interest in system page was that they're adding multiplayer (of some sort), but apparently only to PS4?

As I said on Reddit but my guess for PvP is that it probably be a 1 v 1 format which each player trying to complete their completion matrix before the other by taking their zones and killing their NPC Servants and the first one who completes it wins. Or at least that's my guess if they base it off the gameplay of the first game. As reference does anyone know how PvP is handled in other Musou games?

Why don't they just add a Conquest mode that's separate from the Story mode for that?

By restrictive it's talking about how in the main story you will only get the choice of playing of three characters out of sixteen with the others being delegated into NPC roles whose influence on the story is really small compared how it is in other Fate series, and that's even taking account both Extra and CCC. You could play those Servants in their side stories or gameplay mode but ultimately most of them was just there with little impact on the story when compared to the main 3. I can see why that would be a problem.

As reference does anyone know how PvP is handled in other Musou games?

Older games from PS2 era have varied PvP, most of them like Gundam Musou 1 and Basara 2 is just a 1v1 fight without the musou aspect (no mooks to kill). I think DW5 have split screen and outright musou PvP, but I kinda forgot. Nowadays tho? Multiplayer stuff are mostly Co-op.
