I know it's not a proper Fate work and people have issues with it, but if we're talking about Fate anime with female protagonists, there's Prisma which has 42 episodes and a movie (not counting BD specials and OVAs)
edit: I know the movie MC is male, but that's still 42 episodes (and more coming) of Fate anime with female MC

Now that I think about it, neither are Shinji and Sakura, but I can make a case for them because of CCC.

Was Leo that important in CCC, or should I assume that he'll have more importance in this rendition of Extra?

I'd say he was one of the more important character's in EXTRA too, even if it's only because EXTRA has so few character's that matter.

It only got darker in 3rei and at the start it was a light hearted magical girl show with loli yuri fanservice moments. Not what one expects from the "Fate" frachise, which is known for being about battle royales beetween mages using summoned figures from myth and history. That's what I meant. And that's also the major issue I was referencing in my comment: the loli fanservice. People have issues with that and Prisma Illya being actually the little girl she looks like (unlike her Stay Night self) makes it worse
But still, it fullfill the conditions of "Fate show with female MC"

This seems pretty arbitrary to consider something like Prisms Illya a "proper" Fate show.

I mean, if we take that line of thought and apply it to everything Fate, Hollow Ataraxia wouldn't be a "proper" Fate work. It's chuck full of fan service with relatively little serious content and actual full-blown sex scenes with questionable, to be generous, importance to the plot.

Prisma Illya is a proper Fate work, regardless of how some people may feel about it.
