Since I seem to have made her wait here for me for about two hours now, I think the least I can do is grab her some caffeine. While it's odd to see her playing around on an arcade cabinet, mumbling something that sounds like swears to herself as she keeps her eyes locked on the screen in front of her, I suppose it's not completely out there, she was the school ace after all, having a hidden video-game talent would make sense...
Fishing for my wallet as I step up to the counter, I yawn as I order her usual, (black, no sugar or cream, kind of a showoff honestly) as well as my own, embracing my lack of ability to drink bitter things by loading my cup with all of the cream and chocolate that I could stand, the pitch black changing to a sort of cloudy white as I thank the woman behind the counter, who simply smiles at me in response, before going back into the kitchen portion of the shop, leaving the place almost silent, if it wasn't for the distant sounds of the arcade machines.
There weren't too many people around... It was far too early for that, but it seemed that the shop-owners kept up a good pace in spite of the time. People would probably start trickling in soon, give it another hour or so...
Still, I didn't really care about that too much, it just being Emi and me for now is just fine.
While we hung out a lot at school, it had been a little over a month since Emi and I had done something together outside of it. I felt a little bad, showing up late after she had gone through all of the trouble of agreeing to accompany me today, especially on such an early train... Although, I suppose that part of it had been more her idea than mine.
'If we get to Aoyama early, we have more time to spend together before the day ends.'
It was something like that, if I could recall correctly.
...Although recalling those words... I start to feel even worse...
Maybe I should get her something else later on too-
"...!"
Of course, lost in thought as I turned, ready to apologize to my ever too perfect best friend, the light that fills my world vanishes.
Not only that, I also have the sensation of someone's arm wrapping around my waist.
At this time of the morning, perhaps a person would ordinarily be a bit more worried about this, but rather than panicking, I just get a little mad.
After all, the tell-tale sound of a "Game Over," screen had become audible a moment ago, there had only been the two of us in here, and there was only one person I knew who liked to play the "Who Am I" game without actually asking the question, as if she expected you to simply know the answer.
1.) Protest silently. No movement, just purposeful passivity. Don't give Emi the reaction she wants, it's funnier that way.
2.) "...Where exactly do you think you're touching?"
3.) Counter-Grab
4.) *Other.*
