Been playing Tsukihime without Eng patch this week. I played it the first time in English long ago during my university days due to not being able to understand JP back then, but things are different now. For the time being hopefully I will finish Arc route within a month or two, but Lostbelt 4 coming today so gonna have to extend it to 3 months.
How different an experience is it?
I finished the Tsukihime manga. It was a good story, but there were some things it could done without. It doesn't help that the quality of the manga got worse in the middle of the story, it was kind of painful to read those chapters and there were things that weren't conveyed properly. Shiki just killed Roa by stabbing his point. I mean, he got turned into dust anyway, but I thought he was going to cut him into pieces after what did. There's a lot of things that I'm wondering about, but I want to know about the epilogue the most. Did Shiki and Arcueid really meet again in that castle or was it all just a dream? Did he even really meet his teacher in that field? What really happened?

Yes, Shiki really met with Aoko. Yes, Shiki really went after Arcueid to get her out of her self-imposed exile. Also, why would he need to cut Roa in pieces? Striking the point of death is much more effective.
It speaks volumes about the manga being overrated if it makes you miss that kind of obvious stuff.
Doing anything other than stabbing the point would do exactly what they needed to not have done. I also seem to remember Shiki not even being the one to kill Roa in the manga.

It should be added that Eclipse (the meeting with Aoko) rings pretty hollow if you haven't gone through all the other routes before that, being all about Shiki's characterization, which you don't get in Arc.

I know Roa was a big fella (and even bigger on the inside), but I still wouldn't characterise him as a state.

I'm finally rounding out the "original" Fate by sitting down with Fate/Hollow Ataraxia. It's absolutely all over the place, which is of course intentional. I'm not too big on the slice of life stuff and the cuh-razy shenanigans on Shirou's side, but I do like Archer's cat analogy and Medea's magical lectures. It's a good way to get to know these characters a bit more now that they are off the clock.
Naturally, I'm eating up everything on Bazett's side of the equation. Reminds me a lot of Rin in that she tries to play the part of cool, collected magus but is a hopeless romantic at heart. Nasu has this knack for creating really interesting sideshows to his main stories like the Executors or the Demon Hunters that I would love hear more about.
Once I get through HA, I intend to take another crack at Tsukihime. I read through the Arc route ages ago, and got a few hours into the Ciel route before throwing in the towel. I remember not liking Shiki much and felt alienated that we had to read the story from his perspective. A protagonist need not be heroic, but reading about a guy who hacks to pieces a pretty stranger did not endear him to me. I generally don't want to read about a serial killer. Yeah, sure, Nanaya training and instinctive aversion to non-humans and Roa influence and all that, but that's just window dressing for someone who has the thought processes of Jeffrey Dahmer. The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth.
I cheated a bit and skipped ahead to read a few of the KT shorts like Red Demon God and Dawn after a friend recommended them to me as something that has that Tsukihime flavor without thrusting us back into Shiki's shoes. It was a good appetizer, enough that I decided to circle back around to the original when I have the time. Maybe I was too hard on Shiki the first time around. We will see.

I really need to finish HF, then potentially sit down with Ataraxia, and finally Tsukihime, just because I need to understand the other side of the Nasuverse better.
