fanfic authors who dont finish their fics are literally the worst people. if you cant finish it, dont start it.

that goes double for the type who just writes a few chapters, gets bored, starts something else, and ends up with 10+ half finished stories and no motivation to actually finish any of them.

I already mentioned that particular feeling in a blog.

Actually finishing a chapter fic has been a personal goal of mine for like two years.

It's not as good as a real ending, but at least that sort of thing gives me some measure of closure and lets me picture how it would have played out. Better than nothing.

Whether or not an author finishes their fic is on them. If someone doesn't like that they dropped it (for whatever reason), then too bad. If you want to see it finished, ask the author if you can adopt their story and finish it yourself (getting insight from said author as to how that'll go). Or just accept that it's never coming back and move on.
