Huh. I'd thought that was public knowledge by now. Sorry!

Still think 'Lord' sounds better then 'Load' though, and the point I brought up is still valid even if I should've spoiled it.

Oh well. It's only a very minor detail, anyway.

Why would the point be valid when you're just comparing "maybe it's lord, maybe it's load" to something else that is also "maybe it's lord, maybe it's load"? That's like, double the ambiguity.

Well, I didn't realize the ambiguity was present for the other one as well.

Really though, my point is just 'Load sounds stupid' and even more nonsensical then 'Lord' does.

Personally I'm of the opinion that it might be something like Road Chaldeas for Vague Theory Reasons.

All those names sound cool to me though, as opposed to 'Load Chaldeas'.

Road Chaldeas might actually be fitting though, if you're taking it as 'a road to humanity's future' or somesuch.

No, as in, Chaldea was a Babylonian civilization, I keep thinking Mashu is named so for the Mashu mountains referenced in the Epic of Gilgamesh, which all of that has ties to the whole cradle-of-civilization thing that Chaldea itself represents, and since we know there's a Road of Babylon...

But yeah. It could be Lord. It could be Load. It could be Road. It could be a whole lot of things. Load actually makes the most sense if you're looking at what ロード・カルデアス is furigana to and even what Shielder says when she activates it.

Parse it as "Load, Chaldeas!" I guess.

It's talking about the "pseudo planetary environment model" (i.e., the globe in the control room), not the organization btw. Since that's what Mash associates with securing mankind's future.

It's probably supposed to be punny between load (activate), load (burden), and road but there's no way to communicate that.

Alright, those few pages are fixed.

Didn't bother to change every instance of Mashu to Mash

It's weird Engrish but Lord makes less sense to people who, again, actually read FGO

Speak for yourself, apart from Yggdmillennia, I think those are great naming conventions. Bazett's name is perfect for her, and Luviagelita and El-Melloi fittingly sound like royal or aristocratic names for example.

Bazett sounds like a food, Justeeze and Yggdmillennia sounds like you need to tell someone gesundheit, El-Melloi sounds like someone failed Spanish...

I mean, Nasu comes up with weird names in Japanese, so it's not like I expect his foreign-ish names to sound good, but, c'mon.

When will Nasu come up with good names, like Tropicalesque Home-A-Wave Dog-Strings.

The moment he decides to change the names of the characters in Fate/Stay Night.

    Thinking about it...

Alice (Mahoyo and Fate/Extra one), Dan and Julius (both from Fate/Extra) and Caren (Hollow Ataraxia) are the only people I know who had decent foreign names.

PS: Not including their last names though...
    Not dealing with it...

    Why even try?

He'll never touch Narita. Fate/Strange Fake is a true goldmine: Tine Chelc, Bazdilot Cordelion, Galvarosso Scaldio, Faldeus Dioland.

It's like Narita is trying to beat the record of silly names he set in Baccano.

I have a fondness for those kinds of crazy foreign names, so that doesn't bother me (I just think it sounds cool). By the way, 'Yggdmillenia' is obviously deriving from 'Yggdrasil' (the world-tree of Norse mythology) and I'm pretty sure the Einzburn matriarch's name is 'Justeaze' not 'Justeeze'.

In Caren's case her last name is an actual name that exists in reality though, so hers at least is fine. Also, you say "decent", but it sounds to me that what you actually mean is "normal"? I.e that rather than them being the only ones with cool sounding foreign names, they are the only ones with foreign names that sound like actual, normal foreign names, right?
