I can't personally cook this episode's dish because beef, but I was unclear because Shirou pounded the garlic and salt into the beef that he then wrapped, but then he put the garlic again? That part was confusing.
Oh, it's quite simple!
1) Season the meat with pounded garlic.
2) Cook that very same garlic in a frying pan with oil.
3) Take the pieces of cooked garlic out of the pan, but leave the garlic-flavoured oil.
4) Cook the meat in the garlic-flavoured oil.
That way, you make sure the meat is seasoned with garlic without the taste being overpowering nor burning the garlic.
What a fantastic christmas episode. And there's a 13th episode in January? great. Seriously thought it would end with this episode. Here's hoping we get good news about this and that next month isn't the definitive end

It's at chapter 9.4, which was translated over 4 months ago...I don't know what's going on with Enemy Stand these days, they haven't continued their translations of the Lord El-Melloi II Case Files manga in over 4 months either...I hope they're okay. Since I follow both of those series, ES's scanlations are very much appreciated.

great last ep and the new ending was cute, no more apron boy but hopefully we get 2nd season soon,
