Assis: Another cool sheet from you. I see you took my advice doing a more cheerful character this time around, since your previous ones were all rather gloomy. His Magecraft sounds pretty interesting (nice job on the Chuuni names, by the way), but most of its effects seem rather abstract and not easy to visualize. I'd suggest fleshing out each one of his abilities a bit more and adding more of what he can do with them in practical terms. As of now it's too much Chuuni jargon without any clear sense of how his spells would look or act in an actual story. You included some of that under his Sniper section but I think it needs a bit more, and for all his abilities rather then just Branch and Flower.

    Thaaanks!
Well, I Will add a few things tomorrow, but here is a short explication:
Basically, Assis have many Magic circuits, but all of Very low quality. So, instead of make one great spell, he make numerous small spells.
The bole is only the system that he created to do this, the root is an "overload" to increase the power, the branch is the "activation key", or how he use the system (bole) and the flower is the greatest magecraft he can make with this system.
I will specify the uses tomorrow

Hello. I don't know if this thread is dead with all the contests going on, but I wanted to try my hand at this.

    Name: Skráarmaður Hrói Magnusson
    Alias/Nickname/Title: Serial Doodler
    Gender: Male
    Age: 30
    Height/Weight: ???
    Birthplace: Grundartangi, Iceland

    Personality
    Forte/Likes: Linguistics, silly hypothetical questions
    Weaknesses/Dislikes: Closed minds, proofreading
    Natural Talents: Lateral thinking
    Natural Enemy: ???

    Magical Attributes
    Origin: Addition
    Elemental Alignment: Earth, Water

    Magic Circuits
    Circuit Quantity: A
    Circuit Quality: C
    Circuit Composition: Snowflake

    Character:
Deathly afraid of being compared to an old man, Hrói spends a large portion of his time and paycheck on youthful fashion and the like, not that anyone would really appreciate it at his place of business. An “older brother that can’t help but act like a younger brother”, the soul-crushing boredom of life at the bank has forced Hrói to seek safety in mental regression. Consequently, all the time he spends doodling has resulted in more than a few runic “short-circuits” that quite literally blow up in his face, but at the same time his trial and error process has made him an accomplished experimenter.

    Biography:
Born into the ancient Icelandic Magnusson clan, it’s said that every magus in Iceland is descended from this one family or one of its many branches. Ousted by the mainland Scandinavian families centuries ago for its heretical and contradictory doctrines, the Magnussons initially settled in Höfn in the southeast, before spreading out to cover the entire island. A family that’s been left by the wayside of history, the Mage’s Association hardly remembers it exists despite several individuals of the bloodline attending the institution over the years. Devoid of finances and resources in the harsh North, the Magnussons set about establishing a future for their children by filling a hole in the magical world; that being a dedicated banking system for mages. Set up in Reykjavik, the International Magus Bank has been compared to the stereotype of the “secret Swiss bank account” for its puzzling lack of clarity in terms of business and investment practices, but one can’t fault the efficiency and safety of such a system. The Icelanders’ specific school of magic is suited to keeping track of large sums of numbers and the formulae of deposits and withdrawals, and the bank is popular with younger generations of foreign families trying to keep their personal wealth away from enemies within their own clans.

The truth of the matter is that the bank serves the Magnussons’s purposes at a ratio of 2:1 to those that actually make use of their business. Money and artifacts are safely kept in storage, yes, but the Magnussons have created the world’s largest database of written linguistic factors from across the globe. Called the Frábærstafur, the database brings in hordes of information and is displayed in a fractal system on a giant runestone brought to Iceland from the Magnussons’s roots in Denmark. Any bank employee is allowed to experiment with the Frábærstafur on their own time, the unique properties of the Icelandic Galdristafir ensures that no one’s individual thought process can be interrupted by someone else. Hrói compares it to a “giant whiteboard from a math class, displaying a simple formula that everyone in class is allowed to add to until it becomes a giant mess”.

What’s described to the public as a simple security measure, the bank requires all customers to submit a printed copy of their unique Crest. While weird, most customers feel nothing to worry about, as a piece of paper with their family crest on it can’t possibly be any practical use to anyone. This, however, is incorrect. Because the Frábærstafur’s system saves the trouble of the family having to marry into certain lines of magi in order to access the secrets of their crests, the Magnussons are relatively lax when it comes to personal affairs on the individual level. It does enforce a three-year required service at the bank before one is able to leave and go about their lives.
Of course, the secrets of the Frábærstafur are life and death to the Icelanders, as the truth of the bank’s affairs would no doubt bring about a Sealing Designation upon the entire country. Hrói currently works as a teller at bank’s main branch.

    Magecraft Related Abilities:
    Magic Crest: Galdrastafir--
The native Icelandic thaumaturgical method derived from the Norse runes of the Scandinavian mainland. It takes the shape of a densely packed wheel-like pattern on the back, and allows the possessor to encode complex runic mathematical formulas as easily as casting a single Ansuz. A fundamental departure from its ancestral crest, the “lines of code” of modern rune magecraft has been supplanted by “designing the entire microchip” according to those who possess this crest. Rather, unorthodoxically, the Norse crest is rejected as “archaic” and “a language of savages” by the Icelandic sect. Galdrastafir was designed to assist the ancient subsistence farmers and warriors of Iceland through incredibly specific means, thus the idea of single-rune answers to problems is akin to “using a rock instead of a hammer on a nail because they both accomplish basically the same thing”. But what really sets the Galdrastafir apart is its ability to seamlessly incorporate symbolic languages from other cultures and crests into its “programming language”, earning it the disparaging title of the “American English for Runes”. When pagan Iceland was subjected to the influx of Christianity, and thus Christian images and symbols, the runic inscriptions of the times mutated to incorporate the new additions, adding to its base alphabet of possibilities. The Magnusson clan thus believes that if it accumulates a base of linguistic symbols from all over the world and from every type of magecraft, simply programming a Rúdukross (“superstave” combining lines of code and modifiers, named after the Rood-Cross, the most common type of superstave from ancient times) big enough and complex enough to reach the Root is possible.

    Ægishjálmur
    False Fascination Eyes

One of the very first of the original Galdristafir, kept intact by the main family line since its inception, and available to Hrói through the records of his crest. Ægishjálmur refers to the “helmet of terror” present in the Niflung treasure of the dragon Fafnir, later taken by Sigurd as his own. But the Icelandic sect argues that this is not the case, and that the “helmet” was but a metaphor for the insignia carved into Fafnir’s forehead. It was a popular design on Viking helmets, meant to convey a shell of the power of Fafnir’s deathly gaze. Mages of the Magnusson clan opt to have the stave tattooed onto their eyes, partly for ease of use and partly to deceive the magical world at large that they do in fact possess powerful Mystic Eyes. A target is paralyzed in place as long as eye contact is maintained, some reports even including partial cardiac arrest.

    Modify
    Prolong Phenomena

The true worth of Galdristafir lies in its fluid modification system. A set of eight basic staves used to amplify, lessen, capture, or redirect the flow of magical energy produced by the completed stave makes up the heart of the Galdristafir ideal. Finding the “proper flow” along with the proper collection of multicultural symbolic language are the two basic principles the Magnusson clan research. Hrói displays far more talent in this particular regard, being able to apply stave modifiers externally to other magical systems, rather than incorporating the system into Galdristafir itself.

    Mystic Codes/Familiars:

Galdrabók: The “Bible for Icelandic Mages”, it is a common mass-produced Grimoire-type Mystic Code that compiles all the basics necessary for an Icelandic magus’s success. It contains a total of 47 completed “spell” staves that are quite banal in their application, but easy enough to cast in this form. Because individual magi are so preoccupied with intense specialization, they sometimes lose the brain capacity to remember incredibly basic life-skills. It’s a bit embarrassing, but it’s fine as long as everyone is doing it, right?

    Creator Remarks:

First time creating a magus, be gentle.

Magnusson: Just skimmed this one, so I'll probably read it more thoroughly in the next couple days. The idea of using magic as a programming language isn't something I've seen before, and the character himself seems quite fun (a stereotypical "old man trying to appear hip and with it", basically). Nice work.

Name: István “Stephen” Jani Gutkeled V
    Alias/Nickname/Title:“V”, Bathory’s Brat, Dragon’s Hatchling
    Gender: Male
    Age: 12(?)
    Height/Weight: 58 inches/90 pounds
    Birthplace: Ecséd, Hungary

    Personality
    Forte/Likes: Blood, action movies
    Weaknesses/Dislikes: Slasher films, taking baths
    Natural Talents: Absorption, film theory
    Natural Enemy: None?

    Magical Attributes
    Origin: Happenstance (Dragon)
    Elemental Alignment: Water

    Magic Circuits
    Circuit Quantity: E
    Circuit Quality: A+
    Circuit Composition: Simple

    Character:
An average boy of 12 on the surface, Stephen’s biggest concern is how much fun he can have in a single day. A fan of playing outside around the family castle, his distorted mentality has allowed him to create a richly populated imaginary world that he seems only to indulge in when he’s alone in the woods. Because the clothes he’s forced to wear are mostly revealing or made of very thin fabric in order to better facilitate his blood abilities, he’s prone to coming back from a day’s romp covered in mud and practically naked. Like all young children before him, he greatly detests the daily ceremony known as “baths”, thinking them a waste of time when he could be having fun. The only difference being, however, is that Stephen bathes in a tub filled with the spilled blood of young boys. Because the baths sometimes last several hours in order for Stephen to fully consume what his body needs of the blood, his mother took to bribing him by installing a large TV in the bathroom and letting him watch movies. Like his ancestor Elizabeth before him, the movies fomented Stephen’s adoration for the performing arts. Instead of desiring to create his own, however, he took to being an amateur critic. His favorite film is Lawrence of Arabia.

    Biography:
Born into the Gutkeled (nee Bathory) house of Hungary, which was forced to change its name to that of an ancient ancestor after the family was targeted by the many victims of Elizabeth. There is no doubt, however, that Stephen is a true “main branch” Bathory.
He lives with his mother and his grandfather on the family estate in Ecséd, where his ancestor Stephen V Bathory, the friend of Vlad III, was born. When he was 10 years old, Stephen discovered the truth of his parents’s incestuous relationship; his mother was also his sister, raped by his grandfather to produce an heir after his mother’s mother died. This kind of relationship wasn’t anything new to the Bathory family, but Stephen grew a manic hatred for his grandfather (also named Stephen), as all young boys tend to cherish their mothers above anything and anyone else. On Stephen’s 11th birthday, his mother murdered her father, and together they consumed the elder Stephen’s body. His mother promised to spoil him, and Stephen himself promised to grow up to be a better husband for his mother (both blissfully unaware of the irony).
The Bathory house up until this time had indulged in the practice of bathing in and consuming the virginal blood of others, but the family’s dwindling influence and resources in the modern day has forced them to purchase the bodies of homunculus makers and the like, which is quickly sinking them into debt. They are investigating alternative options, including the Holy Grail.

    Magecraft Related Abilities:
While an ancient family in every respect other than magical, the Christianization of the Balkans and Hungary as far back as the 2nd Century suppressed and eradicated most forms of pagan magic in the area. While Stephen has the rudimentary beginnings of a Magic Crest, he carries immense magical power along these stunted circuits thanks exclusively to the outside power of his blood. Because his “fuse” is so short, overloading his circuits and exhausting himself to the point of passing out is common.

    Mixed Blood--Ordo Draconum
The Order of the Dragon, the chivalric order created by the Holy Dragon Sigismund in the face of Islamic aggression, in which Sigismund gathered like-minded generals and rulers of Southern Europe directly threatened by Ottoman incursions. Sigismund intended to create a race of superhumans that would act in the sole defense of Christianity by exhuming the corpse of the dragon Silene; that which Saint George had killed years before, and infusing the dragon’s blood into his circle of knights. The raw power the blood of the strongest Phantasmal Beast induced in the Order was obvious, most notably the strength and tenacity of Vlad III, who took the name Dracul in honor of the Order and his father. Though diluted over the centuries, Stephen still possesses enormous physical and magical strength for a child his size. Unlike his ancestor Elizabeth, Stephen’s outward draconic tendencies are muted: his nails are feminine, yet thick and sharp, and he carries a single reverse-scale below his bellybutton.

    Sorcery Trait--Sárkányvér
Long ago, Stephen’s family, under the direct orders of Matthias Corvinus, decided to assist Vlad III in reclaiming his Wallachian throne from the Basarab. After failing initially to regroup with a support army, Stephen’s ancestor eventually proved brave and capable enough to assist the voivode in reclaiming his homeland for the second time. As a sign of respect and gratitude, Vlad III became formal blood-brothers with Stephen’s ancestor. Unbeknownst to either of them, this exchange of blood imparted certain aspects of the man known as the Impaler onto the unassuming Hungarian family. Binding to the Bathory’s genetic code, subsequent generations would find themselves...changed. Madness and other forms of instability, both mental and physical, began cropping up in the Bathory family at an alarming rate. Culminating famously with Elizabeth Bathory’s ritualistic murder of 600 women, who believed that bathing in blood would reduce aging, the strain of Vlad’s blood that had survived inside the Bathory line was finally sated for once. That’s not to say, however, that Elizabeth was entirely incorrect.
The root cause of the Bathory’s woes was eventually discovered, and ultimately encouraged. The true value of the Sárkányvér lies in the pseudo-vampiric qualities imparted onto the possessors. While it’s common fact that magi often consume the blood of their peers in order to restore or boost their magical energy, Sárkányvér allows for the same benefits to be reached simply by making skin contact any blood at all, much like a frog. As the Bathory house has had zero magical aptitude up until this point, the idea of reaching the Root through the consumption of blood in the name of eternal youth was preposterous, not to mention unknown. Thus, the Blood of the Dragon has no long-term beneficial effects, as the Bathorys are only simulating Dead Apostles from a distance. However, without a steady consumption of blood one way or another, Vlad’s blood will resume its attempt to reject the body, resulting in draconic disfigurement of the host.

A variation of Vlad III’s own Noble Phantasm is available to Stephen, albeit at a price. As Vlad’s blood cells created tiny stakes inside Stephen’s body to bind themselves to the blood he absorbed through his skin, they became something of an administrator to the blood network that makes up Stephen’s body. By forcing Od through these cells, stakes made exclusively of the blood of others bursts through Stephen’s body, with Vlad’s blood acting as the framework, or “the pole that carries the spearhead”. Stephen calls it
    Demon’s Bloodsoaked Right Hand
    Kazikli Agha
(lit.: Impaler’s Lieutenant) in reference to the fact that exhibiting the Noble Phantasm through his right arm is slightly less painful than anywhere else on his body, and the fact that Vlad and Stephen’s ancestor had a “student and master” kind of relationship.

    Mystic Codes/Familiars:
The “Symbols of the Order”, the dragon and cross pendants Stephen wears around tightly around his neck, are said to be Mystic Codes of the Order of the Dragon. He doesn’t know what they do, unfortunately.

    Non-Magecraft Abilities:
Stephen has a keen eye for film, which he calls his “Eye of the Critic” that he likes to make a big deal about (shouldn’t he be more concerned with his other abilities?). As long as an event can be “likened to that of a movie”, Stephen can exhibit incredibly deep insight on the matter, bordering on the realm of precognition.

Stephen sounds like a male Elizabeth Bathory with a bit of Astolfo mixed in. I like him. His personality skirts the perfect line between adorable and terrifying and his abilities are very well fleshed out as well. I love the lore you gave on Sigismund's holy dragon order. That's so good it ought to be canon.

Now that this thread's getting a bit busier I might post up an entry or two myself...

I always believed that Vlad really hated Astolfo because he reminded him so much of Stephen V but with a third of the usefulness.

    Name: Gastro Adipose

    Title: "Magus Devourer"

    Gender: Male

Age: ??? (appears somewhere in mid twenties)

    Birthplace: ???

    Appearance:
A silver-haired man with a slender and youthful appearance, green eyes shining with a predatory glint. Dresses in black leather, with a hood usually pulled over his head and lined with decorative protrusions to resemble a gaping fanged mouth. His midriff is left bare, showing the countless gruesome scars that cris-cross his body, with one particularly gaping one over his stomach where his Mystic Code Belly of Belzebuth has been inserted. Also has unnaturally sharp teeth which can easily tear through human flesh.

    History:
Everything of Gastro's true past and origins is lost to history. The only things known about him are that he is a serial killer who targets other Magi (preferably from affluent lineages), gruesomely tears apart their bodies and devours their Magic Crests. He is a bogeyman, his name spoken in fearful whispers amongst the Mages of Clock Tower.

As Magic Crests are the pinnacle of an entire family's thaumaturgy, stealing or destroying them is a crime that strikes against the very foundation of Magi society. For his horrific crimes Gastro has been branded with a Sealing Designation, with all enforcers of the Mage's Association ordered to kill him on sight.

    Personality:
A mysterious person; Gastro is cheerful and friendly most of the time, but shows an incredibly cruel and sadistic personality while "hunting". He has an obsession with food and describes virtually everything in odd culinary metaphors, including emotions (good emotions taste "sweet", bad ones "sour").

He is also obsessed with obtaining the Crests of as many Magi as possible, believing that with their accumulated knowledge he will become a being akin to 'God'. The reason he wishes to become 'God', like almost everything of Gastro's past, is shrouded in mystery. It is possible that it is even tied to the affections of a certain person he knew before awakening his Origin...

    Likes: tasty meals, knowledge
Dislikes: bad-tasting meals, failing to catch prey
    Fortes: tracking prey, gaining knowledge
    Natural Enemy: Run Ru

    Magical Attributes:
Origin: Assimilation (has also inherited countless false Origins through Carnivorization Eucharist)
Elemental Alignment: Fire (can access countless other Elements through Carnivorization Eucharist)

    Magic Circuits
    :
    Circuit Quantity: A+
    Circuit Quality: Variable
    Circuit Composition: Variable

    Magecraft-Related Abilities:

    Carnivorization Eucharist
Blood Rite Of The Devouring God

Gastro's sole form of Magecraft, which allows him to obtain the spells and knowledge of other Magi by devouring their Magic Crests. Consumed Crests are integrated into Gastro's own Magic Circuits through his Origin of "Assimilation", allowing him to use them as if they were his own. One to actually see Gastro's Circuits would find them a gruesome patchwork of countless strands inelegantly sewn together, a hack job that more resembles the work of a butcher than a talented weaver.

While this process does not necessarily kill the Magi in question, Gastro invariably ends up consuming more of their body than is actually necessary and killing them anyways. Given how most Magi would regard the loss of their Crest as worse then death, this might even be seen as a twisted form of mercy.

With how long he has been hunting his "prey", Gastro has managed to obtain a substantial collection of Crests (the exact quantity is unknown, but at least numbers somewhere in the dozens), granting him a range and versatility of thaumaturgy that far eclipses most Magi. Combined with his terrifying intelligence and single-mindedness, this makes him an incredibly dangerous foe.

    Familiars/Mystic Codes:

    Belly Of Belzebuth
    Ravenous Stomach Purgatory

A Mystic Code that Gastro has assimilated into his body. When activated, a secondary fanged mouth opens up in his belly and entrails reach out like tentacles to grab his victim and drag them inside to be devoured. These entrails are as durable as high-tension cables, and will rapidly corrode any blade used to cut through them. The nightmarish form of this ability is also likely to impose significant mental damage on the victim and everyone nearby.

    Elixer Of Jahannam
    Corrosive Salivation

Another Mystic Code that is part of Gastro's body. It transforms all his bodily fluids into highly potent "stomach acid" that serves to corrode flesh and make his targets easier to consume. He mainly spreads it through his own saliva while biting the victim, but it also works through his blood and sweat. Needless to say, Gastro himself is fully immune.

    Non-Magecraft Abilities:

    Single-Mindedness
Gastro is incredibly single-minded and resourceful when it comes to tracking his prey. Once Gastro has acquired the "taste" of a particular prey he will pursue them relentlessly, no matter how far they try to run or hide. Through his incredible tenacity, Gastro can shut out most forms of mental interference and obtain a superhuman degree of focus.

    Synesthesia
Gastro possesses a unique form of Synesthesia, allowing him to perceive all kinds of sensory information through his tongue. By "tasting" an object or person with his tongue, Gastro can gain a vast breadth of information relating to the target. For instance, just tasting the ground would allow him to know who recently walked on it, what trace materials they left behind, what the type and weight of their shoes were, along with other relevant information. This makes Gastro a terrifyingly effective tracker.

    Self-Modification
The aptitude to remold one's own body or merge one's own flesh with body parts of others. Gastro's Origin of "Assimilation" has given him an incredible talent for this ability, allowing him to not only absorb the crests of other Magi but various Mystic Codes into his own body- all to increase his prowess in the hunt.

At this point, he can no longer be called a human being but something far closer to a monster.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I actually wrote up most of this sheet right at the end of the latest Mage contest, but I figured it'd be best to wait until things cooled down a bit before posting it up here. Now that Express has come and stirred up the thread again, I figured now is the right time to finish this up and post it. As always, be sure to drop by with comments and criticisms!

After looking through both this thread and the contest thread, a point You made kind of stands out about "discount Kireis" being a problem. I remember at least two or three whose main function is "I can do anything the people I killed could do", with Gastro being the latest in that line.
I guess my main issue is why even have him consume all these crests if he's...not going to do anything with them. Exploring having every bodily fluid be turned into acid would be more interesting, imo.

I guess my main issue is why even have him consume all these crests if he's...not going to do anything with them. Exploring having every bodily fluid be turned into acid would be more interesting, imo.
Fair enough, and I do remember the comment about those kinds of characters being overused. I just thought I had a somewhat unique take on it.

He definitely can cast spells from the Crests he consumes, I just didn't bother to list them since he has like an insane amount. That'd be something to show in a fanfic rather then a simple character profile, though I do imagine he'd have a spell (stolen from a Scandinavian Magi) that creates ravenous wolf familiars to chase after his targets. As well as many, many others.

    Thanks for the feedback, BTW.

    Name: Julian Reincore Drochshúil
    Alias: “Basilisk”

    Gender: Male
    Age: 26
    Height/Weight: 5’11/158 lbs.
    Birthplace: United States

    Personality:
    Likes: Quiet, practicing magecraft
Dislikes: Foods of poor quality, loud idiots
    Natural Talent: Photography
    Natural Enemy: Barthomeloi Lorelei

    Magical Attributes:
    Origin: Mortis
    Elemental Alignment: Earth, Aether

    Magic Circuits:
    Quantity: A
    Quality: B
    Circuit Composition: Ingrained

    Bio
The third child of mid tier magus family the Reincores, he was quickly sent to the Drochshúil as a child. Upon arrival, his origin, magic circuits, and elemental alignment were checked before he had been there for an hour. With his dual alignment and origin, he held capability for the founder’s own magic eye, a Mystic Eye of Death Perception the founder inherited from the basilisk. He was trained in the art of using a magic eye and how to control it, until it was finally implanted in his late teens.

He’s since then specialized in Dead Apostle hunting, as his powerful eye and powerful Reinforcement can make short work of most bloodsuckers, but as it causes him large amounts of pain to use his eye he only goes out every couple of months. During a hunt in Scotland, his kill was stolen by a mysterious woman, who he insulted for stealing his money. This led to a minor fight, but neither went full out and it ended in a draw. Unknown to him, he had just traded blows with none other than the Vice Director, Barthomeloi Lorelei.

The entire clan was in panic, their entire association was at risk because one of their own had just punched the goddamn Queen of the Clock Tower! But, to their surprise, there was no political backlash to the organization or to Julian, but instead, they received a threat by Barthomeloi that the next time she saw Julian, she would kill him for damaging her honor.

Currently, he’s at his home in London for several months as emergency back up, as his colossal fuck up has earned him house arrest and a lot of his privileges stripped for the time being.

    Character
A quiet, reserved man, he only has two things he finds truly fun. Learning more about magecraft, and taking photos of whatever interests him.
He says to hold no grudges, as he sees it as a waste of one's time and mental power. However, he holds only one true grudge, and that's against Barthomeloi.

He has a large pride in his work as both an Enforcer and as a photographer, so when his kill was stolen he went into a rage, fighting her with all of his strength save his eye, but failed in sufficiently doing anything other than ripping up her skirt and sleeves while he lost his jacket in the battle. With his ban as result of her, he has sworn to get payback, showing her the true power of the Basilisk.

    Magecraft-Related Abilities
Mystic Eye of Death Perception: A type of Mystic Eye/Pure Eye hybrid so rare it is thought to not even exist by even True Ancestors. Julian's are uniquely powerful as they received their power from a basilisk, a Monstrous Beast with powers reaching that of Divine Beasts, able to kill anything it looks at with a single glance. As the ability has been severely weakened over centuries of non-use and having been adapted into a human, it cannot kill with a glance and is limited to only human targets, so killing non-living/non-animate objects such as a wall or object and is limited to only the points of death. However, the points of death he sees are rather thick as result of his eye's power, but it comes at a steep price.

As eyes with such a pure form of killing should never have been given to a human being, and due to it's great power it is constantly killing it's host. The cells around his eye socket are suffering necrosis as the eye continuously kills the cells existence around it. It is so rapid that if he doesn't get it actively checked as often as he can, or he overuses his eye, it will spread to his brain and cause it rot, killing him from the inside out.

Reinfocement: Julian is master at reinforcing his body, able to make his body act with fifteen times the power of an average human being. However, this high level reinforcement can only last several minutes before he starts feeling lethargic and drained.

    Family History
In 1220, a caravan was attacked by a basilisk in Ireland, the beast’s Mystic Eyes killing all the guards and slaughtering nearly the entire caravan. Among them was a nameless bastard of a magi clan, running from his past to try and start a new life.

When the beast's gaze landed on his, his own Mystic Eyes of Absorption activated for the first and last time, absorbing the effects of the monster's eyes and reversing them onto the basilisk, killing it instantly. The magus’ developed a great fear of his eyes, and swore to contain them to make sure no one died from his horrid gaze, and founded the Drochshúil organization, devoted to the investigation and containment of Mystic Eyes.

Originally an organization one is born into, it eventually expanded to spreading it’s gazes onto the unwanted children of magus families, adopting them into their clan in the 1600s. For thousands of years, it has done the process of enacting Sealing Designations and monitor risky Mystic Eye users from a distance, intervening when necessary and either hypnotizing or killing the wielder of the eyes and harvesting them for further study and prevent them from being used by necromancers.

But in 1859, the then head of the clan, Irish magus Ferguson “Balor” Ockshards noticed that several members possessed Pure Eyes, the eye's effects making them far stronger in the field at locating possible traps from the target's magecraft. With multiple cases of evidence in favor, he authorized members to implant the collected Mystic Eyes into themselves, as long as the eyes were compatible with the magus and their effects could be easily contained using a conventional enchanted eyepatch. Since then, they’ve become a respected organization in the field of Mystic Eye capabilities, several of it’s members becoming reliable Enforcers. They are held in a similar manner to the Yggdmillenia family, but are more dependent on the Clock Tower for finding magi with Mystic Eyes, and are treated very much like just a special branch of Enforcers.

    <I>

So I came up with the concept of someone using a basilisk's eye after rewatching Harry Potter, but it was only after this sheet was halfway finished did I remember that "transferring" Mystic and Pure Eyes is as far as I know, an impossibility in the Nasuverse unless someone uses True Magic to mess with the soul. But, I wasted a couple hours on it and I like the concept so I decided to upload it anyway.

An idea in the making. Criticism is appreciated.

A family of Magi that specializes not in any schools of magecraft but Metallurgy. And by working bits of magecraft into their works, they are unrivaled in the creation of Mystic Codes and other magical implements. Rumored to have roots from the Age of Gods, the family's ancestors supposedly stole the secrets of smithing from the ancient dwarves. With a tendency of scouring the globe for new forging techniques and materials, the "blueprints" and knowledge are what makes up for most of their Magic Crest. With their work ethic and innovative mindset, it's a wonder that they have little influence in the Association.

The main reason is the unfortunate reputation of their family heads abruptly kicking the bucket every 4 generations or so. Likely the price of stealing from the dwarves, this cycle of death usually happens before the Crest is fully transferred -- setting the family back by decades. Of course, the family's tenacity (or stubbornness) kept them together long enough to recover; but misfortune strikes again and the cycle repeats.

Due to the nature of their craft, everyone in the family work as Freelancers -- offering their craft in exchange for money. While many in the Association mocks them, they are unable to deny the family's skill in the trade. Thus, many of the family's clients would send requests for "Unique Commissions" in exchange for money or materials. In fact, they would much like to be paid in materials: metals, scales, blood, etc. The rarer and exotic the better.

Sounds like a good idea, I'd enjoy seeing how you take it further in a sheet.

Metallurgy has its roots in magecraft
It's one of the most ancient forms and the egyptian form is the basis of atlas alchemy

Alright, thanks for pointing it out. I'm reworking that part of my sheet.

Thankfully, I'm not too far into it...

    Name: Roisin Flidhais Poncanna McNamara
Alias/Nickname/Title: The Red Branch’s Thorny Rose
    Gender: Female
    Age: 25
    Height/Weight: 5’8”/140lbs
    Birthplace: Ulster, Ireland

    Personality
    Forte/Likes: Hunting, traveling
    Weaknesses/Dislikes: Surprises
    Natural Talents: Survivalism
    Natural Enemy: Dullahan

    Magical Attributes
    Origin: Initiative
    Elemental Alignment: Earth

    Magic Circuits
    Circuit Quantity: B
    Circuit Quality: C
    Circuit Composition: Trinity

    Character:
Roisin is a loud person by nature, but this only acts to confuse when attached to her introverted personality. She has a noticeable superiority complex that she’ll act on in bursts, before becoming embarrassed of herself and resorting to insults and violence. Despite this, she harbors a potent motherly spirit, instilled in her by her family. Her family history has lead her to believe such things as “there’s no such thing as a powerful man without a more powerful woman behind him”. Her tastes in men is an enigma.
She’s uncomfortable talking about how much she loves hunting her “big game”, as she doesn’t believe she can easily convey what it feels like to be alone against a magical predator. At the same time, she won’t shy away from showing off her trophies.

    Magecraft Related Abilities:
    Sorcery Trait--Emain Macha
A collective mutation of the Poncanna clan Magic Crest. It refers to Emain Macha, the residence of the King of Ireland and home of the Red Branch Knights back in the Age of Gods. The name translates to “Macha’s Twins”, and refers to the story of the goddess Macha cursing every able-bodied man in Ireland during their most dire time of need as retribution for her own pain and humiliation at the hands of the king.

It is a geis-like curse that doesn’t require consent from both parties, so long as a series of requirements are met. Those being that A) The Trait’s possessor must possess blood of the geis’s target, and B) The possessor must concurrently be on her period. Once signed in blood, the contract forces an equalization between the two parties’ consciousness and willpower. Obedience to the holder of Emain Macha must be upheld, or else the victim’s own Magic Crest will begin to attack them from the inside out. However, it is a dangerous double-edged sword, as leaked information can cause the victim to turn the geis back on the wielder.

This trait maid the Panconna useful as mediators between enemy clans in the past, forcefully enacting peace should there be no other option available. Because one of the stipulations of the Trait’s use is to be on one’s period, the Panconna forcibly adopted a matriarchal hierarchy, channeling effort into raising suitable female heirs.

    Reinforcement
Reinforcement is the most difficult Magecraft with the purpose of pushing a basis to the utmost limit. It is the foundation of all Magecraft that enhance the existence of the target by pouring Magical Energy, but as no clear expression of how much it can be enhanced is defined, almighty reinforcements are rare. It is the same as adding something to an object that is already complete, in case of failure the target will receive it as a poison. Success requires a good grasp of the inner structure to fill openings with Magical Energy. Reinforcing the purpose of existence would be increasing the sharpness of a knife, the nourishment of food, or in the case of a living creature, physical strength and durability. It is impossible to reinforce something vague. As living things will resist invasion of Magical Energy, reinforcing someone else is the hardest.

For millennia, the Poncanna Clan has specialized in only the most basic applications of Reinforcement. As ancient Celtic shaman-warriors, reinforcing the body to fight harder and strong has been the beginning and end of the Poncanna’s research of the magecraft. Only until relatively recently in the family line has the Poncanna begun to explore the true conceptual potential of Reinforcement. As such, they have all but abandoned the traditional research of runes familiar to those of the Invasion-era Irish Magic Crests. The Poncanna are still a valued clan among the Red Branch Knights, the equivalent of aristocrats in more civilized mage culture.
Roisin is a textbook spellcaster in this regard, as she uses Reinforcement only as a means to an end. Most notably, she reinforces her entire body as well as the ground beneath her to minimize the force of Toole Areadbhar’s recoil when firing.

    Mystic Codes/Familiars:
    Toole Areadbhar
Slaughtering Spear of the War God

The mighty spear of Lugh, paid to him as compensation by the children of Tuireann. Once belonging to the mythical and secretive King of Persia Pisear, the spear was retrieved in addition to a number of other items after the death of Lugh’s father Cian. All of these items are coveted by or currently owned by the Red Branch Knights in some form.

The true function of the spear has been lost to time, unlike the Noble Phantasm of Fragarach that survives through the God Holder virus of the McRemitz. Physical use of Areadbhar in its current state is impossible, as is separating it from the Bounded Field imbued in its wooden prison. To do so potentially spells extinction for all life. To make up for this enormous deficit in deployable ordnance, Areadbhar’s yew prison has been converted into the body of a gigantic rifle. By incorporating a mechanism that “stimulates” the mysterious Bounded Field, the demonic spear is then temporarily exposed to the world through the rifle’s barrel in the span of microseconds. This flash-aperture is enough, however, to fire a powerful “bolt” of bundled curses at the target. Though Toole Areadbhar relating to the concept of firearms doesn’t fire bullets or eject casings, the rifle still produces recoil equivalent to a traditional rifle of its size. The kick is actually the spear dwelling within, seething to escape.

Areadbhar’s curse is known as “nimh dheimhin” among the knights--translated to as The Poison of Fate. Potent even for a sealed Noble Phantasm of the Age of Gods, the curse acts as a conceptual acid, eroding its fate dependent on how much of the curse the target was exposed to. It also commonly produces flames upon impact that aren’t extinguishable by any modern means.

    Non-Magecraft Abilities:
Roisin is a gifted hunter, among her other abilities. Her research and experience with encountering and hunting Phantasmal Species for their various pelts, horns, claws, etc, has honed her senses quite a ways. When encountering an enemy that has even 1% of a connection to a Phantasmal Beast, Roisin has a fair chance to make educated guesses about them, should she have encountered the beast before.
She’s a proficient hand-to-hand combatant thanks to her Reinforcement magecraft, but she only uses it as a last resort, preferring to hunt from a distance.

    Creator's Notes
A NPC from a quest/RP that I'm running and is currently taking up all of my time. Roisin is the current ally of the MC.
Comments are appreciated, especially for the Sorcery Trait. I don't think I explained it very well tbh

    Name: Astera gwyndur

    Alias: the magical detective
    Age: 18
    Element: blood
    Origen: seeker
    Circuit quality: C
    Circuit quantity: C
    Circuit composition: avarage

Talents: forensic science, intuitive deduction, tea making, hand-to-hand combat, riddles
Weakness: poor social skills, pets, bitter drinks (especially coffe)
    Natural enemies: criminals

backstory: Astera is the only decendent of the gwyndur family of mages and the heir of their crest.
or so it should have been.
on the night before the process of crest transference begin, the 10 year old Astera found her dad killed in his own office, with a golden rose growing out of his heart. since that day, the young Astera dived into studies on the art of investigation and found out she has a talent for the thing.
now at the age of eighteen, she is goes (reluctantly) by the allias of "magical detective" and solve cases while searching for her father's killer

Personality: Astera is a very reserved person. she rarely interacts with others outside of her clients and her loyal butler, and can easly be described as a anti-social workaholic.
she has an acute sense of justice and belives that "your rights end where another's begins", so while she can be very insensitive to her culprits, she always go out of her way to ensure the safety of innocents.
she has a love of riddles that she used to share with her dad. if someone is good with riddles, it probably has her atencion.

    abilities:

llwybr gwaed: what you leave behind leads me to you
a magecraft Astera developed to help on her inventigation. llwybr gwaed (welsh to blood trail) is a aplication of her origen (seeker) into her element (blood).
by entering in contact with blood of a being (living or dead, human or not), she is capable of know everything they have feel and anything that has happen to their body in the last twelve hours, as well as where exactly they are in the moment
it can be activated with even a small drop of blood, and while it has little to no aplication in combat, it is of extreme help to solve cases.

    detective-style: fist of while steel
Astera's own fighting style that revolves around reaction to the enemies moviments and striking their weak spots when they are vunerable.
she controls the flow of blood in her brain to aument her senses and her thought procession speed and increase her react time to almost instantanious and her perception of details to an unbelivable amount allowing her to block/dogde attacks and them counter with precision.
she developed this style so she can with her mind and not her body, which allows for her to do stuff like holding off instinctual moviments who would detriment her or evade only the necessary centimeters so she can better counterattack.she can also flow her blood in other parts of her body to increase their physical capabilities, but this reduces her reaction time so she does not use in battle very much.

    items:

    magic rejecting gloves:
this are a mystic code created by her butler (a retired mage with a debt to her father) and resemble blade resistent gloves.
they work by forcefully rejecting the mystery of spells, allowing Astera to block attacks like a gandr
or break most barriers. the gloves are only capable of rejecting the spells and are not destroying or nullifying then, so it does not work in things like geis or flash air.
