    Character
    Emotionless, with no caring whether he crushes those below or above him. He is highly respected in his work, and is diligent in everything he does. You want him to kill a man? Be it public or quiet, so sudden not even the target knows what happened, or lasting months and letting it be sickeningly slow, he’ll perform it perfectly. Discover the dynamics of a magecraft? He’ll master it in weeks. Mow your lawn with a toe nail clipper? Give him twelve hours.

    In order to ensure his own longevity, he has transferred his soul from doll to doll over an unknown span of years, this being only possible through his origin, as he a sets the doll as being his “true” body and his old one as a “false” body, but small fragments of his soul refusing to let go of his former body. This process has lead to him loosing a lot of his early memories and emotions. He is no longer capable of having apathy or sympathy, his emotions becoming a paper thin husk of humanity.

    His apathetic condition is of little detriment to him, but he does actually intend to use a True Magic to revive his soul's original condition, as actions driven by purely logic instead of both logic and emotions can be dangerous to both himself and his organization.

    Yet, oddly, he still retains a fondness for birds, and keeps several at his home in [REDACTED], [REDACTED].

    Bio
    Nothing is known about Dante’s past apart from several small details. A child of Albainian and Swedish magus families sometime in the 1860s to 1880s, who due to massive debts became an enforcer, and fulfilled countless contracts with the [REDACTED] Tower before the trail goes cold until the 1940s, where his role as a officer in the MIB. began. At the time he was anywhere from his 80s to 90s, and had changed bodies at least once beforehand. After the assassination of JFK, he was promoted to High General of the MIB, which is his current role. The organization maintains peace in America and surrounding territories, going under the name Magecraft Investigation Bureau, or as it’s known by the public, the shady and, by a majority of the population, non-existent Men In Black. Differing from researching aliens, they research and utilize magecraft for the sole sake of keeping the United States a step ahead of it’s enemies. The organization is underneath so much inked files and failsafes, not even the President is aware of it’s existence, as is all of Congress, Senate, or any major leaders. In truth, the only people who the M.I.B. will reliably answer to is a handful of minor workers in multiple money management branches of every major government agency and the NSA.

    Founded during the early 1910s with assistance from several Native Americans from the [REDACTED] tribe, the organization works out of [REDACTED] locations across the Unite States, investigating claims of magecraft and ensuring they don’t reach the public or government eye any more than they deem appropriate. With over [REDACTED] members, in every city, town, and backwater village in all of the states, territories, and surrounding countries, they are impossible to hide from.

    Due to a fundamental conflict of interest with the [CODENAME=Gerry Villa] secret society, the MIB, desiring to observe and research magecraft for weaponry, Gerry Villa desires magecraft's existence to be world recognized and sweep into the chaotic aftermath and take control. Ever since M.I.B was founded, they’ve been at each other’s throats and have engaged in small scale wars over the past century.

    According to several files, there may or may not be [REDACTED] members in the [REDACTED] Association, keeping tabs on the political landscape. [CODENAME=Monarch] and [CODENAME=Jester] are of particular interest, with [REDACTED] agents on each one whenever possible, as the former is difficult to spy on effectively due to their high ranking and the latter is almost impossible to track because of the [CODENAME=Mirror], allowing him to escape to other [REDACTED] at a moment’s notice.

    During the Cold War, the MIB were engaged in a full on war of their own with the KGB, with battles taking place in both the Americas, Russia, and Northern Asia. Over 400 casualties were reported by both sides before the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the complete extermination of any magus associated with the communist regime.

    [REDACTED] members were taken to America, their high quality ancient circuits serving as perfect specimens for MIB's experiments. None of them survived to the modern day.

    The M.I.B. is well aware of the Grail, and of the Snowfield Grail, but they are similar to the Church in how they feel about it, content to let the ignorant magi fight amongst each other, but they do plan on claiming it the next time they can acquire a potential Master.

    Magecraft Related Abilities

    Olive
    Claw of Peace


    Two Mystic Codes of identical nature, Olive is a pair of gloves. Apart from the standard runic reinforcement arrays and self ignition failsafe on any piece of MIB equipment, it holds a small charge containing a cocktail of chloroform and other noxious chemicals capable of being released with a flick of his wrist. By alternating Mana outflow, he can switch it from migraine inducing to full on brain cell damaging levels of toxicity.

    A long black cane sword, by pushing a small button on the handle, will switch to a longsword and compact pistol. The bullets are only .22, but they have enough force to pulverize a targets joints into incapacitation and possibly death, and of punching an olive sized hole in one’s chest. The sword is of an extremely bizarre metal of the MIB’s design, the closest comparison would be a titanium and copper alloy hybrid, but fourteen times as light and slightly more flexible. It is both an effective physical weapon and magical catalyst.

    A false body who’s design and capabilities triumph anything like it in the European or Asian magecraft systems, the body is mostly comprised of “clay” and a titanium frame resembling the human skeleton. The clay is a type of alchemical reagent combined with several techniques recovered from Greece, it is extremely responsive to shaping but resistant to altering after its been set. Under a microscope, it is similar to cancer cells, constantly regenerating into its true form regardless of how drastic the injuries are. Over long term usage, the soul becomes extremely attached to the body, meaning that switching into different bodies will cause certain “bits” of the soul being left behind.

    • Knows a variety of memory alteration and fabrication spells, and is extremely knowledgeable about all Western Hemisphere magecrafts and how to counter them.
    • The farther magecraft is from the European or Native American system, the harder it is for him to comprehend and counter it.

    Non-Magecraft Abilities

    Neuro
    The human body has at least 206 bones, and counting the ones in the brain over 95 billion nerves. Each bone can be broken, and each nerve can be struck with intriguing results.

    By rapidly striking with the tips of one’s fingers in key locations, certain nerves can be pinched or pulled, causing involuntary movements by the nervous system. Was devised as a quick alternative for M.I.B. agents if they could not bring certain weapons or were separated from them. Normal humans are exceptionally vulnerable to this technique, as they lack resilient enough nerve connections to fight against it.

    Due to the presence of Magic Circuits, magi are difficult to effectively restrain. Their more resilient nervous system and stronger mental fortitudes make this as useful as simply fighting them normally, but reinforcement of the fingers can offer a temporary breach through their natural shielding and the temporary numbing of their nervous system and of Magic Circuits in the local area.

    I guess it was about time I posted a mage sheet. This one was from a long time ago, so it's edgy as fuck. Forgive me if it's unproffesional.

    Bio
    An Israeli girl, daughter of a retired mage that healed and educated any people that requested his help. Since that was seen as being an ally of the enemy by both sides, his death was unavoidable. Someone who helped you was good, but if that person helped the one you attempt to delete, it’s not good anymore. They could choose to side with the enemy at any moment. That’s why he was killed. Of course, Sharey was targeted as well. When an evil is eradicated, its seed must be eliminated as well. But Sharey, as the little girl that she was, couldn’t understand why they wanted to see her dead. She hadn’t done anything wrong, so why should she die?

    Running from her chasers, she was saved by the employees of a businessman, who was known for rescuing children like her and giving them a new family. The businessman was charmed by Sharey and chose to take care of her himself. She was happy, but her happiness faded away as soon as she stepped on the man’s mansion. Her room was tiny and dark, without any windows or decoration, just four walls of concrete. Her meals consisted on just some dry bread and water. She was forced to work like a slave, and beaten brutally whenever she did something wrong.

    The day her decadence started was the day in which she entered a room she didn’t have to enter. Thinking she could convince him to stop with this abusive treatment, she entered his office. It was empty. Some papers were on the desk. She knew there would be consequences for entering without permission, and that they would be harsher if she touched something she shouldn’t, but she grabbed the papers. She could barely read, but she understood what was going on. That businessman wasn’t some abusive old man that saved children to give them a second chance in life. The kids were sold as slaves, but that wasn’t the worst. That man funded the war by giving weapons to both Israelis and Palestinians. The businessman caught her with the papers on her hand. She was enraged by what she had just read. She didn’t care about the punishment she’d receive, she just wanted to attack the man that was responsible of everyone’s suffering. She punched him with little to no effect, and in return was knocked out with a single kick.

    That very same night, after she regained her consciousness, Sharey grabbed a knife from the kitchen. At the beginning, she thought about killing herself to end her suffering, but she changed her mind soon. If she had to end with someone’s pain, she might as well end everyone’s. She headed to the businessman’s room, with her hand shaking in fear and doubt. The man was sleeping deeply and didn’t notice the intruder in his room. Everything was going to be easy, she just had to stop doubting. She rose the knife with her whole body shaking. It was fine to kill someone that had caused so many troubles, right? If he hadn’t done it, her father would still be alive. If she killed this man, she’d avenge her father. Thinking about her father, she stabbed the old man’s throat. He didn’t resist, the murder couldn’t have gone better. With her whole face and hands stained with blood, Sharey stepped back a little. She had done it. She had taken a person’s life. She was supposed to feel fear or something like that, but she didn’t. She felt accomplished. She had killed the person who had made so many people hate her and her father, yes, but she wasn’t happy for that. She had enjoyed it. She took the knife from the corpse’s neck and stabbed the body in different places. It was fun and de-stressing, like popping the bubbles of bubble wrap.

    The next day, she escaped from the mansion. There was no more meaning in staying there. She followed the road, without knowing where to go. She didn’t have any food or water, so she ended passing out in the middle of nowhere. She was found then by a child trafficker, who made children fight to death before selling the survivors to more people. Sharey was back to square one. She couldn’t understand why fate was so cruel with her. It was as if she was accursed with being mistreated by everyone. During her imprisonment, she thought and thought about how her life was marked with everybody hating her. Unable to find any answer, her mind started deteriorating.

    By the time she was sent to fight, Sharey’s sanity was at its limit. Refusing to do anything, the trafficker hit her with a whip. And with this, she broke completely. She had been hated enough, now was her time to show how much she hated. Her Magic Circuits started rotating, and her body was filled with energy. She felt stronger than ever before. With the same look as a shark that has detected blood in the water, she attacked the trafficker viciously. Punching, kicking, scratching, biting… Using her entire body, she turned a body into a bloody mess of flesh and bones, and laughed while doing so. She then looked at the audience, and promised that she’d kill all of them.

    After this, she decided to wander the world as someone who would be hated and would hate in return. She didn’t have to worry about anything anymore, as she could solve any of her problems by killing. But she still had a question: why was she the one to be hated by everyone? She found her answer after using an abandoned library as a shelter. There, a book called her attention. The book described an ancient ritual in which a village chose a random person and blamed them of all the bad things that had happened. That person was considered Angra Mainyu, the god of evil. Sharey came to the most logical conclusion for her: she was hated because she had been chosen as the Angra Mainyu of her times. She was hatred and evil itself, bound by a physical body. Seeing this, she couldn’t help but laugh.

    “What I’ve done so far is nothing… My job has just started…”


    Personality
    As someone that considers herself an incarnation of hatred, she thinks that all the hate of this world is collected by her body, what results in being hated. But since she is alive, she must hate as well, and what is she going to hate, if it isn’t what causes her suffering? Following this reasoning, she justifies her murders. After all, one must get rid of what one hates.

    In Sharey’s mind, everything is ruled by hatred. Whenever a decision is taken, the discarded option is hated. Even if something is liked or loved, there’s a bit of hatred in that love, as it is impossible to love fully. Since she is hatred, and hatred is omnipresent in all life, Sharey believes she will live eternally. Even if she is the only person left in the world, the fact of her being alive will sustain her in an infinite loop of existing by hating and hating by existing. She will never die, it’s just her physical body that will wither.

    She loves taunting and provoking her victims, making them hate her more than what they already hate her so she can hate them even more. Many times she has been called “crazy”, but she doesn’t think she’s crazy. She is free, because she doesn’t need to obey anything other than her own impulses, because she only does what she wants to do, and nothing else.

    To think that she can still be saved is digging your own grave. Someone who has grown enjoying murder and believing that what they are doing isn’t wrong can’t be saved at this point. Doing that is like trying to make a dog that has been beaten by humans since it was a puppy learn to see a person as a friend and not an enemy. The only result is having your hand bitten. She is only human because her body is that of a girl and she can speak, but nothing else. She even growls and barks like a wounded wolf when attacked.


    Magical abilities
    Sharey didn’t inherit her father’s Crest, so she only has her natural Magic Circuits. Since she hasn’t been tutored in magecraft, her knowledge about it is technically null. Even so, she is able to use Reinforcement instinctively. Given her considerable Magic Circuits Quantity, she is able to use great amounts of mana to strengthen her body, but because she uses it when she goes berserk, she doesn’t show any restraint, what has damaged her Circuits greatly, decreasing their quality to the lowest rank. Almost all of her Circuits are shattered and she is in constant pain because of it, but she has grown used to that. Even if her body threatens to break in a million pieces, she ignores her limits and rises her power to great levels.


    Weapons
    Knives: Sharey carries with herself a couple of plain, rusty knives. Instead of grabbing them with her hands, she has glued a strap on the handle that she wraps around her wrists, allowing her to fight without having to hold them. In addition to the damage of her attacks with the hands, stabs and cuts are made too.

    Security boots: Heavy footwear with an iron tip that makes kicks be more painful.

    Maybe rather then adding more paragraphs, just add an extra space in between the paragraphs to set them apart more. As is it kind of merges together in my eyes into one giant mass of text.

    My first Sheet is Kenshin with rape as backstory and the only two mages I make are escaped psycho lab rat and brooding self insert with self insert ability with self insert motive that edgied to the max. I want to return 2 years ago and kill that guy, Archer style. This is much more better than those.

    "If even perfection is not enough, the only option is to better one's self however one can."

    While behavior can vary according to their circumstances of their 'birth', a consistent is a sense of deep respect towards their 'ancestors' as well as a drive to contribute to the next 'generation'. In a sense, they are a mage's mage.

    Biography:
    All Homunculi are flawed; whether it be in longevity, physicality, mentality, magic circuits or ego. In exchange for being coined as a completed being from birth, something must be lost as payment. When a homuculus was coined that did not appear to possess any overt defect and possessed only average physical and magical capabilities by homunculi standards, it's maker did not give it much attention. When that creation was relegated towards research and developed an uncharacteristic ingenuity in it's work, some notice was given but other matters were given higher priority.

    So when that homunculi left it's maker, using it's knowledge to evade any attempt to recapture, it's maker was unable to formulate an effective response. As that homunculi left it's maker's field of influence, perhaps it considered that escape had been successful. Such a thought would be incorrect as rather than allow their secrets to be put at risk, it's maker instead requested outside assistance and an certain enforcer was sent to deal with the matter.

    Though that enforcer was relatively inexperienced in combat, their abilities were potent and outside of the homunculus's frame of knowledge. As such that homunculus experienced it's first in-surmountable foe. Only bodily sacrifice and cunning deception born of desperation prevented their termination.

    Now thought deceased, their creator examined all data that it possessed on the failure and a defect was finally located. Subtle, the homunculus's mental structure was flawed in such a way that their consciousness deconstructed itself every time they went to sleep similar to a common sleeping spell. This defect interacted uniquely with the innate knowledge that homunculi are born with and caused all knowledge prior to reconstruction of consciousness to be perceived as innate.

    Effectively the homunculus died every night and someone new was born every morning.

    These false deaths and reincarnations combined with an inability to distinguish between innate and learned knowledge had consistently worn down on their mental state and caused errors to develop. It was theorized that the errors overcame normal behaviorally patterns once the 'value' of their 'lives' exceeded the 'value' of the original innate knowledge.




    Magecraft Related Abilities:
    Alchemy: Possessing techniques unique to the certain clan, a high knowledge base of alchemy is available to them.

    Coining: Koin is very skilled at the coining of homunculi by the standards of magi, with resources and time he should be able to equal the Musik clan but the ability to face the full knowledge of their maker is beyond them. However such endeavors are irrelevant as focus is on the fast production of simpler proto-homunculi.

    Physical Conversion: Creation of alchemical wire. the flexibility and strength of which can be modified freely to suit the situation. Rather than use it to form familiars, focus is placed on the creation of wire armaments that can amplify physical prowess. It is believed thee followed this way of usage due to the circumstances of their first loss.

    Consciousness Manipulation: Control of one's mental state. Can be used to create dreamscapes but Koin utilizes it simply to prolong their ability to stay awake without compromising one's mental faculties. Some iterations overuse this which normally results in the next generation avoiding such methods after having to deal with the consequences.

    Mystic Codes/Familiars:


    Breche die Schale (Break the Shell): A simple mystic code meant to promote rapid growth for proto-homunculi embryos that are contained within. A transparent sphere filled with a fluid that contains potent magical energy, when activated this code infuses the contained embryo with magical energy and starts the maturation process.

    Wiege zum Grab (Cradle to Grave): A general term used for the proto-homunculi that Koin utilizes in combat. Longevity, Ego, Basic Efficiency are all abandoned, what remains is a existence that can only follow a single command. But that one command will be followed with everything these defect-ridden creation possesses.



    Non-Magecraft Abilities:
    Single Mindedness- The ability to devote everything towards a specific task.

    Through this skill a variety of mundane skills have been developed; at first these were mainly in the field of evasion and escaping but it is not unknown for iterations to pursue various interests outside of magecraft. While the emotional basis behind these 'wasted lives' is lost, the abilities still remain available for use.

    I mean, the backstory is a generic edgy "Lab Experiment Gone Wrong," but the idea of the ability is decent if not somewhat similar to Self-Modification.

    Background


    The Artemyeva are a family of magus from oriental russia. Because of a confront with another family, they were forced to leave to japan, and after some generations, their pratices became a mix of russian-japanese culture.
    Despite carrying the family's name, Kurogi can barely be considered a member. Being only the bastard Daughter of the family head's husband and having Magic circuits unfitting for their brand of magecraft, the only thing that keep her from being "disposed of" was her's apparent compatibility with a certain item acquired by the Artemyeva.
    And so, Kurogi was raised as something inferior and with only one utility, a sort of "human weapon". She hated this, hated that family and hated that life.
    And then she met her.
    The heir of the Artemyeva, her half-sister, was everything she never expected, everything she never knew. She was kind and gentle, she treated her as a person and talked to her like a friend. she was light, pure and blinding. But she was also so fragil.
    From the moment she met her, she knew that she would have to fight in her name. And from then on, she dedicated all of her being into protecting her.



    Personality


    Kurogi comes of as a loner, quiet and anti-social, with a perpetual gloom look on her face. She tends to be wary of persons she never met and distrust any action of anyone who is is not her sister.
    She takes the protection of her sister over everything else, and that is the sole reason why she still works for the Artemyeva. She does not see trouble on doing bad things If necessary. but only if needed, since she dislikes seeing her sister sad like she becomes every time she does something like that.
    She dislike dumb people who don't know their own limits and she can't support stupid discurses about "love" and friendship", those kinds are only problem and will end up killing themselfs along whith anyone who follows them.



    Abilities

    Kurogi specific sword style that she was force to develop to be able to use the family's sword. Derived from the japanese pratic of iaijutsu, it is a technic with extremely quick motions that begins and ends with the sword on it's sheath.
    Kurogi uses the withdrawal reflex from the pain generated from holding the cursed blade to quickly slash and then re-sheath the sword. While most reflexes use only one synapsis of the brain , the withdrawal reflex is polysynaptic in order to obtain a quicker response. With this technic, Kurogi slashes can reach 0.5 seconds.

    Kurogi's trick up her sleeve, a light manipulation magecraft that ensures a kill.
    Kurogi uses all of the magic circuits on her body to absorb light, which makes her look like living shadow. She then unleashes all to blind her opponents, and uses the distraction to kill them.
    A simple but highly effective move. From an outsider perspective, it looks like a dark silhouette moving in a field of white, giving her the moniquer of "dark killer".

    A kanata that was aquired by the Artemyeva when they settle on japan, because of it's properties, use is imposible by most magus.
    The sword is 80 cm and the blade it's unusualy red. The sword has a powerful curse on it that destroys any mana that it enters in contact with.
    Simply holding the sword causes extreme pain, so it's sheath was design to seal it's properties. The blade can easy cut through any magical protection and a wound from it will most likely permanently destroy a magus magic circuits on the spot it was inflicted. Thankfuly for Kurogi, the higher resistence of her circuits allow her to endure a short amount of exposure to the weapons effects, making her the best person to utilize it.

    Biography
    Born around the time Johannes became the Head of the Biology Department, the Family initially assigned Johannes to take care of the child in hopes that she become a valuable addition to the family. At first, Johannes declined due to his new position and responsibilities, but due to partially feeling bad and much egging from Joanna, Tiara begin living with him at the Clock Tower.


    Although possessing decent quality of Circuits similar to most Tierpflegers of the current generation, she hasn't been able to exhibit any sort of 'true' magical qualities other than controlling animals. For now.


    Magecraft Related Abilities

    Mädchen der Tiere
    The Princess of All Animals
    The Tierpfleger lineage's Sorcery Trait, given a different name due to it's relatively stronger effects. Their history with animals have created a body that is perceived as 'friendly' in an instant to beasts and the likes. Whether it's because their scent or their stance, creatures, mundane or not, does not sense nor show any hostilities towards the Tierpfleger clan. As this only affects members of the Tierpfleger lineage, the creatures are still dangerous and possibly hostile to others.


    Due to a weird combination of being young (and therefore, still not very 'human' yet) and having a substantially higher affinity towards animals, Tiara's Mädchen der Tiere is the most powerful variant the family has ever seen, enabling the young girl to actually control animals in a 1 meter radius from her.


    Mystic Codes/Familiars

    Nash


    Official name Lupus η. One of the Nachtjägers, specifically created to be Tiara's friend and protector. Sporting a 136 cm height and a more refined look than regular Nachtjägers, Nash (as she likes to call it) serves as Tiara's main mode of transportation, carrying her to wherever she wishes inside the Clock Tower. Thus, the sight of a 4-year-old riding a big silver wolf was a commonplace in the Biology Department.


    Lupus μ was created with a greater degree of mind-link to Tiara than the other Nachtjägers, enabling both of them to communicate better than even Johannes and his other creations. And apparently, the wolf(?) is more protective of Tiara than its original creator due to this.


    Non-Magecraft Abilities
    Animal Conversation: She is very attuned with animals, and in conjunction with her Mädchen der Tiere, can hold a silent conversation between her and animals, similar to telepathy. Oddly enough, Joanna can't understand a thing she's saying to those animals.

    And here you are, my first actual contribution to this thread. I don't really know if she constitutes as a 'Magus sheet' in this thread, but lemme tell you, she's going to have a little bit callback in my next sheet... It's short, isn't it?

    Also, 4-year old 'Magus', bet you didn't think of that.

    Psychic Power
    Déjà vu

    A supernatural psychic ability that actualizes the sensation that one has already experienced an event before. It is a form of extrasensory perception that causes its user to perceive a situation currently being experienced as one that has already been experienced in the past. This is achieved by rewriting the user’s own ‘self’ and replicating the current events into one’s past. In simple terms, when the user experiences a new situation, he automatically changes into someone who has already experienced that same situation before.

    It is a form of causality reversal that leads the present into the past. Rather than “I have seen this before so now this situation feels familiar”, this ability follows the logic of “I have never seen this before but I feel like I have, thus I must have seen this before.” In a sense, it is the opposite of Retrocognition, the power to see the past, as it is the power to create a past based on what one sees. To clarify, the psychic power does not actually change the world’s past; it only affects the past, or rather experiences, of the user by inserting memories of having been in the present situation in the past.

    Atsuya does not have fine control over this power and lacks the ability to turn it off. At all times, no matter what he does or what he sees, he will have done it before. To him, experiencing something is the same as redoing it; it is physically impossible for him to do something new.

    As a side effect of his psychic power, Atsuya possesses some precognitive ability. Because he has already experienced the current situation before, naturally he has experienced the outcome of the situation. Thus, he is able to vaguely predict what will happen in the near future based on his past. It is not an actual divinatory power but the indirect results of his psychic abilities.

    Easy Learning
    Thanks to his ability, Atsuya has an incredibly easy time learning/studying. Because he has already learnt the subject before, it is much easier when he tries to learn it again. In fact, it wouldn’t really be accurate to call his actions learning as it is more along the lines of review. Whenever he opens a book to read the contents, all he must do to absorb the information is just recall the information that he had already learnt before.

    Gradation Air
    The magecraft of the Natsuki Family: using projection to create tangible illusions and ephemeral art. The Natsuki family prides itself on their creativity and the ability to bring their imagination to life. For them, their true miracle is the act of giving form to the shapes in their mind and amazing their audiences with their sensational and temporary creations. The process of this creation is an arduous one, though, as they must thoroughly understand the structure and composition of the art they are trying to make before they bring it into the world. Despite this difficulty, however, the family prides itself on never creating the same art twice on the principle that art is only great because it is new and fresh.

    Natsuki Atsuya, however, is different. Thanks to his unique power, he does not need to imagine and understand what he is trying to create because he has already created it before. By inheriting the skills and memories of his past self, he is able to project objects with little mental effort. If a normal artist has to draw a picture to create art, Atsuya only has to trace a picture automatically given to him. Of course, this also means that he doesn’t feel the process of imagining something and only brings art into the world before he evens think of it. While others might think of his art as something novel and unique, to him it’s just an old replication. For others, Gradation Air is the power to create something out of nothing but for Atsuya it’s simply the power to copy and paste. In many ways, he is an artistic Faker.

    Personality:
    Natsuki Atsuya is a man who has never once felt excitement in his life. He has never felt passionate or anxious or relief or joy or anything such dramatic emotions. After all, everything he has done and everything he has seen are things he has already experienced before. Hence, he has never once observed anything that is truly new and novel to him. The events of his life are ones he has already seen before, no matter how insane or illogical or incredible. To him, the very act of living is akin to rereading a book he knows inside out without the enjoyment of reading it the first time.

    First time eating something, first day of school, first performance, first failure, first love… to him, such joys had been taken away from birth. Because of this, he is a dull and boring person with neither ambition nor fear. Why have hope when you’ll never experience something new? Why despair when you’ve been through this before? As such, Atsuya has no drive to do anything. He inherited the family magecraft because he was told to and he creates art because he can, but neither brings him happiness or sorrow. It’s as if life has no meaning to him…

    By observing other people, Atsuya understands that his perception of the world is abnormal. He understands that his feelings are being hindered by the effect of his ability. Even so, he accepts his power and resolves to hide it so that people won’t see him differently. If there is one thing in the world that he could wish for, one thing he holds any excitement towards, it would be the opportunity to feel something new. He’s deliberately rejecting the idea out of fear but… he has a good guess what that novel experience is.

    After all, you can’t die twice.
